With new COVID-19 rules and measures to adhere to, travel looks a bit different in this day and age. Here’s what you need to know before you hop on that plane to St. Lucia:
- Find out if any travel restrictions apply to your origin and destination before locking in your flight. Also check if there are any conditions you’ll need to follow on arrival, such as health testing.
- When you pass through airport screening, keep your face mask on. You will be required to briefly lower it for ID purposes. Those who refuse to wear a face mask may face civil penalties and may also be escorted from the terminal.
- To reduce the potential of cross-contamination, position your boarding pass on the reader yourself and then hold it up for inspection. Do not hand your pass directly to a TSA officer.
- One liquid hand sanitizer container is now permitted in your carry-on luggage. It must not be larger than 12 oz (350 ml), and you’ll have to remove it from your bag at the X-ray machine for screening.
- Put any personal items (e.g, wallet, keys and phone) in your carry-on instead of a bin to minimize handling during the screening process.
- Separate any food you have for X-ray screening. Food items often set off the alarm. Placing them in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA employee to touch and inspect your belongings.
