The Queens Hotel

8/10 Good

"Lovely hotel but they need drawers and a proper bedside table and also need to allow guests to change air-con in their room as it would only go to 16 degrees and was on a low fan so we were still hot in our room, this was during the heatwave! They need to make sure that housekeepers or people dealing with function rooms do not start hoovering at 8.15am!! As this woke us up. The staff were very helpful though and the hotel is lovely, bar has a happy hour and so nice cocktails and bar staff very helpful and friendly. Excellent location by train station convenient to centre."

"Great location right next to the train station and not far to walk to shops and restaurans. Friendly staff. Room is spacious and was ideal as it had a fridge and air con and the temp was 30 degrees outside so we got to go back and relax in the room with the air con. Stayed here a few times now and would highly recommend."

"Great central location just down the road from the car park with 20% discount for guests. The staff were very accommodating and friendly and were happy to make up another bed. Breakfast was good. Downside: some of the furniture was a bit grubby and showed definite signs of wear, for what was advertised this was not what I expected, however the price we paid was fairly reasonable and maybe that is why. I was also disappointed with the tea/coffee provisions as there was only 1 peppermint, 1 everyday and 1 fruit tea and 1 pack of biscuits provided and only a few sachets of milk and sugar (not that I take sugar but…). There was more on offer with the coffee provisions but only 2 cups worth. I had booked the room for 2 people and it is supposed to take 3 so we had to go begging from the front desk. Another issue was the bathroom. The door didn’t go all the way to the floor so you could hear (and smell) everything from the bathroom. The door felt like you were going to break it when you closed it. There was nowhere to hang anything (clothes, towels etc.) and the water temperature in the shower had no cap on it so I burnt my feet trying to adjust the temperature - only a giant would be able to reach the taps from outside the bath and the temperature was too hot even on the cold setting. That being said I would consider staying again depending on the price"

"The staff were incredibly welcoming, the room was clean and spacious, and the location made getting around incredibly easy with uber. It's rare to find a place that balances great service with such budget-friendly pricing. I highly recommend Cedar Court to anyone looking for a stress-free, high-value stay in the area. I will definitely be back!"

Leeds Marriott Hotel

8/10 Good

"The hotel and the hotel staff were excellent. It was a really nice touch to be welcomed in reception with a cold drink on one of the hottest days the UK has seen. The hotel is in an ideal central location close to the railway station, shop and restaurants. The room was good everything working perfectly, really good big screen tv for the football My review would have scored the hotel much, much higher but my problem was the Gino D'Acampo restaurant attached to the hotel, this guy is supposed to be a top notch chef, he needs to do more than just put his name to an expensive restaurant. The food was dreadful: bland arancini with a back ground taste of cleaning fluid, carbonara pasta with curdled eggs, tomato and mozzarella salad with poor acidic tomatoes. Slow off hand service from the staff. On complaining about the food and the service, we were eventually given a reduction in the bill but honestly if a customer complains about the food and you don't even ask what was wrong with it! The Marriott need to part company with this restaurant."
