"We spent ten minutes at the property, saw that it's no homestay and it's unfit for a family with children (broken window in ground floor anybody could climb in, 'zero tolerance for human trafficking' sign where somebody erased 'zero' with a marker, surveillance cameras all around..). Since then, we begged vrbo and owner to pay us back, even in part. No help. Our money, more than 2000, was practically stolen. "

"The place was not private. The owner was in the second bedroom. There was no blanket on the bed. It was minus 15 degrees Celsius outside. It’s Winnipeg!!! There were air freshener plug-ins in every room. It reeked chemical perfume. Why were they necessary? Mattress was grossly soiled. "

"The house itself is a bit rundown which you can’t really tell from the online pictures. Broken towel hangers, broken toilet roll, unpatched wall where thermostat was replaced, ceiling fans difficult to use (remote batteries not working?), etc…these impacted our overall satisfaction with the rental. The location is convenient to the airport.Communication with the host was timely and they did get us extra towels when requested. Check-in was easy. Ample parking on the street. "I was first greeted by a large poster on the front of the door about human trafficking. There were three undisclosed cameras out front. Mulitple signs up inside on doors that made it very unwelcoming. I needed a place because my bathroom was being refinished, and the bathroom did work there. But the light inside the bathroom did not. Needless to say I should have known what to expect renting in this area "
