"1865 was unique due to the area because you were in walking distance to many places near by. And a short driving distance as well. They offer a wonderful breakfast, not usually bacon but 2 kinds of meats like pork sausage and a smoked sausage or ham, always 2 types of eggs, I liked the scrambled eggs. Fruits, breads, pastrys. Juices, coffee, water, hot chocolate. Applesauce, cottage cheese etc. The water pressure is usually low in most places. But clean and helpful staff, they have a outside pool. Our room was on the 4th floor we had Some traffic noise but not too bad. It would be great to have some benches on the balcony to sit and watch people or etc. It's right in the middle of a historic town and we were told it was a little haunted but a friendly ghost. Like our 1st time trying to open our room door i struggled a couple times and after that smoothly so was it a ghost or humidity who knows we had no other issues. But I highly recommend this hotel. We had a tub/shower combo, not sure if they had handicapped rooms or not, but the back rooms i think may be quieter but I really enjoyed seeing what was going on in the streets because you could see quite a distance and you could visualize the battle that had happened. Thank you!"

"Hotel is clean and very well maintained. Our only complaint was that breakfast service was extremely slow our first morning there. We waited about 50 minutes for our food, which was easy to prepare breakfast food like eggs, toast, bacon, etc. The next day was much faster."

"Missed breakfast due to miscommunication/misunderstanding but property staff are very friendly and helpful. The back area has lots of seating to enjoy and relax. The decor even in the office is quite historical and a bit unsettling in my opinion unless you are not spooked easily. All night I could not sleep because there was heavy walking and sound like furniture being dragged across floor - doubtful that another traveler would be moving furniture or walking all night so read into that what you may. I, however, did not sleep."

"Our room was lovely, clean, and inviting. The helpful and friendly staff were there anytime we had a question. And don’t forget to take in the picturesque bar with the friendly staff, too! Lots of close parking with fine dining on site and everything else close by."
