"A/C was set at 70 degrees… it was hot at the room … but overall it was nice Location ans i love the service"

"Walking into the lobby was awesome very clean and well decorated. As I went up to the 7th floor and stepped off the elevator, I was surprised by how hot the floor was, and the carpet was very old and worn down. The room was very outdated and the bathroom needed some upgrades. I paid for an executive suite expecting it to be a little more up to date. The bed was very hard and not a good nights sleep."

"We went on a recommendation hoping to enjoy the our 3 night stay and dreaded going back to the room each night. After moving from a room that the temperature wouldn’t get below 79, we moved to a room that wouldn’t get below 78. We were told by maintenance that it’s just an old hotel and they couldn’t do anything about it. We were given a box fan to help. The hotel was beautiful, we just didn’t enjoy sleeping in the heat."

"Do not stay here! I would never wish to stay at this hotel unless it were my absolute last option! I booked a room with a balcony which I was told didn’t exist. Indeed they do exist but for some reason there must had been none available. I reserved and paid for one so that was the first disappointment of many. The rooms are as clean as could possibly be for a hotel of its age so I have zero complaints where that is concerned and commend the cleaning staff. The walls are super thin and you can literally hear every single thing your neighbor is saying. I was on the fifth floor in a double room just doing a staycation with a friend. We didn’t expect it to be five star but did expect to feel safe. We did not feel safe and contemplated just leaving in the middle of the night driving back to our homes in San Antonio. It was not an expensive stay but regardless a miserable one."

"The Contessa is the value of a Holiday Inn with the cost of an Intercontinental property. This is an old hotel with a small pool crammed onto the rooftop. You don't get a walk in shower like the photos show here on Orbitz and my wife didn't have hot water for her shower this morning, either. If you are a basketball hooligan that wants to get drunk and make a lot of noise, this is your place! But if you're a normal human looking to enjoy the Riverwalk, go over to the Hilton instead. The Ambler restaurant, however, had excellent food and exellent servers - they should move to a good hotel."
