We really enjoyed this place! Staff was friendly and easy check-in and out. On-site parking. The place is located within minutes walk from Zwinger and other major attractions. Two grocery stores Rewe and a Hallal place are within a couple of blocks. The apartment is roomy and well furnished with lots of storage and modern appliances (including washer and dryer). It can easily accommodate a family up to 6~7 people. It has its own sauna and jetted tub, two showers, walk-in closet, comfy beds and clean linens. The place lacks some essentials such as paper towels, dish washing sponge, coffee/tea, cooking oil and spices. But this is not an exactly airb&b type of place, so ... Overall, great value and we highly recommend it!

We stayed at the Residenz am Zwinger for 3 nights. It is located within walking distance to all major Dresden attractions. The apartment is clean, spacious, quite, safe, and well-maintained. One of the best hotels we have ever stayed. 10/10! Thank you.

Huge, beautiful, convenient apartment
This is not actually a hotel, but rather a beautiful, furnished apartment. My upgraded apartment had two bathrooms, one of which had a jacuzzi bath. There was a huge television in the living room, and a slightly smaller one in the bedroom. A very dramatic, modern apartment.

Comfortable apartment in a great location.
This is a nice, clean and spacious apartment. They supplied most of what you would need for an extended stat. There were nice towels, a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and a washer/dryer. The building is across the street from the Zwinger and a Short walk to the old city.

WOW!! says it all
This well located apartment was perfect for exploring Dresden.   It is near the shopping center where the grocery store is located on the lower level .. easy walking distance.  The old town attractions (and there are many) are within walking distance with the Zwinger located right across the street from the apartment. Check in was easy.  A city walking map was supplied on checkin and requested recycling and trash disposal instructions as well. The apartments are newly built and have been thoughtfully furnished with modern appliances  (including a washer / dryer .. I downloaded the English version of the of the operators manual) and storage options.  WiFi was strong and reliable.  Kitchen utensils, cutlery, glassware, linens, etc all of very nice quality.  All appliances worked as intended.  The automatic roll shades allowed the patio door to be open, while blocking glare from the outside. The staff were courteous and informative, allowing us to store our luggage between checkout and time to catch the tram to the train station.  There is a tram stop just a minutes walk (easy to use ticket machines and a transportation info center are located at Postplatz, adjacent to the shopping mall). When visiting Dresden again, we would seek accommodation here.

This is a very clean, spacious, quiet and well-equipped apartment hotel, it has a full kitchen, laundry washer with integrated dryer. The location is also great, next to the Zwinger Palace just across the road. We enjoyed our stay very much and were glad that we booked this hotel.

Location - not too close and not too far
Great location close enough to be able to quickly walk to the main attractions shops and restaurants and far enough away when you want to recover from the days exertions that you cannot hear the noise of the town. Room was unbelievable clean. Only issue was one particular person at reception. First day get a temp and she tries hard to assist in any way and was very good. Next few times get Princess grumpy who clearly doesn't want to be there and was totally unhelpful. Fortunately on one occasion a lovely young man in the office was a lot more helpful and comes to our room to assist with sorting out our inquiry. And our complicated requests? We couldn't get some of the appliance in the room to operate due to the limited instruction provided. Other than dealing with a receptionist who clearly didn't want to be there ( and I note other folk have made similar comments about this place) the place is excellent value for money.

The apartment was laid out in double floor connected with nice wooden stairs. We were in town to enjoy the Weihnachtsmarkt (Christmas market). And this place was like home away from home. Relaxing in the whirlpool at the end of each winter day was a delight!

Perfect hotel
The apartment is so new, has sauna, jacuzzi tub, washing machine, toaster, shampoo.....and the living room is very big! The location is so strategic, just opposite the Zwinger, overall, this is the best apartment we stay in Germany during our trip!

The apartment is really beautiful and has lots of space. The balcony is big offering a beautiful view of the Zwinger. The location is good, within walking distance from the station. I really loved it.

Nice apartment in a good location
This was a very comfortable apartment located within walking distance to the old and new town, and many restaurants. Even though our balcony looked over a large construction site, we were lucky that perhaps because our stay was over a weekend there was no activity occurring. The complex has its own underground parking facilities, which was ver convenient and reasonably priced (12 euro per day). The beds were comfortable, apartment clean and amenities in good condition.

Modern Comfort
Residenz am Zwinger is a very well appointed, comfortable apartment accomodation. It is directly located opposite the Zwinger palace, a five minute walk from the Semper Opera and the Schloss. Supermarkets, lovely coffee houses and restaurants are in the close vicinity. The reception staff were very welcoming and helpful speaking perfect English. The room seemed brand new, everything was impeccably clean. Very pleasant bathroom with separate toilet. If you arrive by train, the tramway number 11 will take you directly in front of the hotel. Dresden is a beautiful city despite the war damage. There are still a lot of beautiful historical buildings and districts to explore. All people that we met were very friendly and helpful happy to speak English. We recommend Residenz am Zwinger and would certainly go back there again.

Nice hotel but very small rooms
We were traveling with a 7 month old baby. The hotel provided a additional bed and a cot. It was very thoughtful however unnecessary as the extra bed made the room far to small. The room was a double and had very little space. The lighting configuration and glass walls to the shower means that if you want light in the bathroom the whole bedroom gets flooded with light. Not the best for your sleeping partner and baby. The rooms are very very small and it is not pleasant to spend time in the space. Made worse by an extra single bed. We asked for the bed to be removed and it was not. The room service menu is far to expensive. However the breakfast buffet was to a high standard. The staff were very pleasant and helpful at all times. The cups in the room were dirty and had coffee stains. Overall I would not travel there again with a young baby and partner, but it would be suitable to a single person on a business trip (as long as you didn't need working space in your apartment.)

They have messed our room bookings up (certain room type that we have booked and paid were not available) yet it was communicated to us as though we are an idiot and it’s our fault! Only regret is that we only booked this for 2 nights ....so comfortable and Dresden really needs a few days to really explore. Used washer/dryer in bathroom to catch up on laundry and there was a well equipped kitchen to make a hot drink and prepare a snack. Bathroom spacious and a separate toilet. All nearly brand new and modern.

We had a very satisfactory 4 night stay in these brand new apartments. Ours was their ‘basic’ level, but we were extremely impressed. The location is excellent - just across the road from the Zwinger and the hop on - hop off bus stop. Easy 5-10 minute walk to all Dresden’s other attractions, & about 15 minutes from the railway & bus stations. The apartment was spotlessly clean and nicely furnished, with a full kitchen, incl. oven, microwave, dishwasher & washing machine. Location is pretty quiet and the free WiFi was very good. The double bed is a wall bed, so you do have to pull it up & down each night. On the 5th floor, you can have free coffee, soft drinks, beer & wine until 4pm daily (though you have to drink them 5here!). Note that whilst the reception closes at 7pm, if you arrive after that they leave the key for you. Also get a free map @ reception, as the tourist office charges 1 euro for them! Would definitely seek to stay here again should we return to Dresden, and would recommend to anyone looking for an apartment/aparthotel.

Huge room, far exceeded expectations. One bedroom apartment with two bathrooms. Very modern equipment. Kitchen well supplied with pots, pans, utensils. Staff were very helpful and responsive to any problems such as explaining how the washing machine/drier worked as it only had German instructions.

Fantastic location. Near the train station as well as the centre of the city. The apartment is very clean and comfortable. One thing. you should be aware of is that the reception closes at 19:00, so if you are arriving after that time, you should contact the hotel beforehand to arrange how to check in.

Great location across the street from the Zwinger. Our room was a studio apartment with a pull-down bed and full kitchen. This is a condo building, not a full-service hotel, so you'll have to walk a couple blocks for breakfast or lunch. But they were very helpful. When I left my iPad in my room, I called them from out next stop and they mailed it back to our home in the U.S.

My wife and I stayed at Zwinger for 3 days in August 2017. Pros: The hotel was amazingly close to the Dresden Picture Gallery – we could see its buildings from the balcony. The hotel is actually an ‘extended stay’. So, for very reasonable money you get a great studio with a fridge and washer/dryer, though a bit small. Interior: open concept, sparkling black and white modern look, very clean. The ladies at the reception were very helpful. They spoke English, German, and Russian, gave us a free map, and printed out our boarding passes for us. However, they work untill 7PM, so you cannot check-in later. There are tram stops nearby, a great Russian restaurant, and shopping/food mall on Postplatz. Cons: Our room was facing the street and it got noisy when we opened our floor-to-ceiling windows. So, we aired the room while we were away. It was just fine with windows closed.

This is more of a rented apartment than a hotel. Overall, the experience was good. The room was very nice, comfortable, and spacious for a studio, everything was brand new and clean when I arrived. Little things like a faulty kettle were promptly taken care of. The staff was efficient and helpful, there is a tablet that you can use to chat with reception. There was a complete set of dishes, tea and coffee, a dishwasher and a washing machine. I requested an iron and it was brought the next morning. There is a very nice lounge on the top floor with a rooftop terrace, where you can have complimentary coffee/tea/drinks in the morning and daytime. The view of the Zwinger and surroundings is beautiful! Some things I can complain about: They claim the rooms are cleaned on a weekly basis, I stayed 8 nights and did not get a cleaning. The corridor near the restaurant smelled like dead fish, it got better after we told someone at the reception. There was construction going on across the yard from my room, I was told it was not going to be loud as they are working inside the building, but it was loud. Trying to focus on work to the sound of a grinder is not my favorite thing. There is no air-conditioning, it does get hot in Dresden for some time every year and I happened to stay in the hotel at that time. I am surprised such a new building did not have any air-conditioning, a fan in the room would have made it much better. The upstairs lounge turns into a greenhouse on a sunny day.

We were in Dresden for two night and it is a great place to stay. Spacious, comfortable and perfectly located to explore the centre of Dresden. They also had bike for rent, we wish we new about it in.

I recommend this hotel to any family visit dresden. It is a luxury hotel. It has a sauna and jaqawzi. It is too large. It has a very modern kitchen and toilets. It is in quiet area. It's not expensive. I will come always be this hotel when I visit dresden.
