I expected a 5 star and it was a 3 star. The whole 20th floor and our room smelled like cigarettes with plug in purifiers in the halls. No sound proofing so woke up to the prayers outside on the loud speakers at 5:30am everyday. The washing machine cord was duck taped to the ground around around the toilet in the powder room. The positives were the lobby was beautiful and concierge and check in staff was friendly, efficient and helpful.

From an American standpoint and someone that is very meticulous. I sent 5 of my adult children to Dubia ages 22-25 and from the moment they arrived they were in complete awe of the property! I received numerous videos and pictures of the lobby as well as the apartment and it superseded all online photos. My children were raised with the finer things and this was definitely on point. I can’t wait to visit.

The studio apartment condition doesn’t compare to the hotel which is well maintained. There was unpleasant smell from the beginning in the room and halls. Better to stay in the hotel rooms than apartments/ studios.

Old bathroom, no standing shower, sliding and dangerous bathtub to be used as a standing shower. After my complain, they switched me to another room but smaller than the executive apartment I had rented.

My whole experience was absolutely amazing, staff were friendly and the hotel looked and appeared to be well kept clean. Management were well professional and i loved being part of the Christmas tree lighting ceremony. It made me feel more valued and part of the hotel family group.

Have just stayed here for a week with my 2 boys aged 12 and 9 and also brought a second family too who have 3 boys aged 11, 9 and 6. The service is exceptional. This is my second time at this hotel and I cannot fault it. The breakfast is fantastic and caters for everyone. Mohammed Farid the assistant manager was welcoming and ensured our rooms were perfect for what we needed. The newly refurbished suites are beautiful and rooms are spacious. The view of the Burj from the room and the pool is insta worthy. Really would highly recommend the hotel . Its clean, spacious and the location is spot on with shuttles that run regularly. There are fab restaurants in the hotel but if you want a quick bite to eat there are 24/7 eateries right outside the hotel. Will be back for my third visit next year and be bringing more families to have the experience we have had!

Very good stay.
Excellent Stay. Fantastic hotel. The 3 bedroom residence is massive! And comfortable. However, like most of Dubai, very expensive. US$55 each for breakfast x 5 people! I didn’t like the hard sell for the Club upgrade package - they must be on commission or incentives to up sell these packages. There isn’t much in the area but some good takeout and a little grocery store next door. Expect to taxi everywhere.

Hotel is very good and nice. The apartment is very big for a family of 4 kids. I booked 2 rooms for me and the kids and it was very spacious for us. Apartment was very quiet and neat. It includes 3 clean bathrooms and a good kitchen. Matresses were very comfortable. Staff were very nice. They were very friendly to me and the kids. Anything the kids asked for, they get it immediately. Location of hotel is very nice. The street has many cafes and retuarants that open 24/7. You can go down and have a seat overlooking Burj Khalifa. The only negative is the breakfast. Seating area is small and not too many big tables are available for families. Some tables are close to eggs counter. You need to take another shower to get rid of frying smell. Also, food quality was average. I think the hotel could do better in it.

For what it is its a nice and clean and comfortable stay but the apartment we stayed in just felt very used and a bit tired. Features of room were just showed signs of a lot of use and not as plush as we would have liked. A bit underwhelming for what I would expect from 5* ShangriLa but nevertheless we were happy enough for the week we were there.

A True 5 Star hotel
The hotel is centrally located. The minute you get off the cab, you are treated very well from the doorman to the check in. Concierge is extremely helpful with the city. Hotel breakfast buffet is extensive to start your day. Hotel offer free shuttle to the Dubai Mall. All the staff are friendly, smiley face and passionate about their job. Highly recommended if you are looking for an exceptional hotel stay.

Great stay, location to Burj Khalifa.
Our stay was very sleek from start to finish. The service when we arrived from the concierge was great they took care of our bags and we just went to check in. We had given Heads up for a early check in request due to flight landing at 05:30 and the staff were great and got our room ready by 09:30. All staff were polite and friendly. We had a studio room for 2 night stay and were fortunate to have a great view of the Burj Khalifa. Certainly great value for money. The bed was extremely comfy. Little dated kitchen/wardrobe units but only minor criticism. No iron or iron board in the room but I'm sure if we had rang reception they would have sent one up. We didn't have breakfast included in our stay but saw the great buffet style food that was available that we decided to splash out and have it one morning. It didn't disappoint. Everything you could think of available and at great quality. (Around £20pp at conversion rate). As for location, it is perfectly located, one metro stop from the Dubai mall and Burj Khalifa in the financial district. Would certainly stay there again and would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting for a few days as a short break. The Palm and marina can take around 50mins to reach but simple and cheap to visit on the metro and tram which is covered by an all day metro ticket at 22AED.

Hotel was overbooked due to flight cancellations so our room was not available. It would have been a good hotel if this issue had not arisen. Very good breakfast.

We were quite disappointed with the state of the bathroom, which was worn, and dated, and hadn't been cleaned properly, there was still old toothpaste stains, and hair in the bathroom. Having said that, the service was good. My daughter vomited on the bed at 3 am, and somebody immediately came and cleaned the bed, they also gave us a free upgrade on checkin, and provided a baby cot. Overall, I think the Shangri la is quite tired, and could be cleaner- but what the lose in aesthetic is made up for in customer service.
