Property located in nice area. I can imagine all at spring or summer time. Dinning room nice arranged, lights are very impressive. Combination of classic and modern design has been done very well. Room spacious with comfortable bed. Everything clean and good condition.

Lovely old building. Very quiet at night. Room was fairly spacious on second floor (no lift. Anyone with mobility issues would struggle) with black out blind. Dinner excellent. Great, helpful, approachable staff. No fridge or safe in rooms which we found unusual in a 4 star. Room was stifling, even with heating off, duvet far too heavy. Didn't sleep well whole time we were there. Indifferent breakfast with few choices. Buffet was very lacking in choice. Stayed in Dumfries to visit family nearby. It would be lovely in nice weather.

Perfect stay all the time. So comfy room. Down fall they are smart tvs but you can’t use YouTube or Netflix. That’s the only problem here.

Best hotel 1.5hrs from the ferry.
Amazing hotel. Beatify setting. Food was awesome and the fire was roaring. Will definitely stay here again.

Beautiful hotel, perfect stay. Staff and service was excellent. Our room was wonderful to sleep in. Only thing to point out was room need a little bit of refreshment of paint. Overall stay was amazing, definitely would go back. Perfect food.

Friendly, welcoming and excellent service
Superb hotel, excellent staff. Second time staying at this hotel for an overnight, weekend break. Very welcoming staff with a special mention to the bar staff and to Robin and the team in the restaurant. Food was delicious and service was second to none. Would definitely recommend

Everything you could want for a hotel stay. Lovely welcome, fabulous room and bathroom, quiet all night… no neighbour noises or bathroom noise nor doors banging… excellent! Breakfast was really good with excellent service. Our 2nd stay and would return again.
