The Farmhouse Cozy 4 Bedroom Escape with Hot Tub

"Beautifully and lovingly restored farmhouse that was well appointed with kitchen utensils/dishes (including a knife sharpener!), lots of towels, basically everything we needed for our immediate family reunion of 6 adults and 2 kids cooking in. We had expected 1 of the bedrooms to have 2 queen beds as listed, but it turns out that there were 2 twin beds in one of the bedrooms and 1 set of twin bunks in a bedroom. It was great having a separate game space that also had basketballs and a soccer ball (great for our teen!) The yard was somewhat of a disappointment in that it needed some tender loving care--mowing, pruning, trimming, repair of treehouse (if it is to be used safely). The response from Brigadoon was timely, courteous, and accommodating."

"The home was very well maintained. It was an ideal location not far from the Lavender Festival activities. I would consider staying here again. The second night, I had to contact the host after 10 pm. The host was pleasant and responsive. This is not a deal breaker, but the noise travels easily from the above unit. I wish I had brought my noise canceling headphones.Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. "

"We loved our stay here. The home served as a base for my family while we explored the Olympic national Forest and other local activities. It's location is well situated to take full advantage of all the area has to offer including whale watching in the bay, bird watching and beach strolls on the nearby spit, and plenty of lakes and forest trails to explore. It's hard to pick a favorite feature but the primary shower, exceptional hot tub, and chef focused kitchen were all enjoyed. The only surprise was that the lower level is rented separately and I was not clear on that when we arrived. This did not damage our visit whatsoever but I do think it should be mentioned before arrival as we accidentally tried to gain entry to the lower unit and disturbed those guests before realizing the proper entrance for our stay. "
"Thank you for a great stay. The Writers Retreat is a fantastic escape from the crowds with amazing deck views. From the deck we watched the deer and a bald eagle bringing fish back to the nest. The house is well equipped with everything you need for a night in after a day of hiking. The house is close to the park but far from the crowds. It is not “fancy” but it was perfectly comfortable. There are games, books and even binoculars to watch the animals! Our family of four had a great stay! "
