"We were in town for the Race Across Scotland - crew stayed here throughout the week, and two of us who ran it were here after we finished. Was a close drive to Cocksburnpath, and to other surrounding areas. Great spot for 4 folks, and having laundry was a huge bonus. Lovely property."

"The house and facilities are fantastic, in fact it felt so homely and welcoming we did not want to come home.
The owners are lovely people very friendly and helpful
The area is great for getting to many close by areas and dog walks.
Love the art around the gardens, fenced in garden great for our pooches.
Definitely going back, need to suss the bath as couldn't get hot water but this was an "us" fault not there's as we are rubbish with reading instructions.
The only let down to our weekend was...

"We stayed at the Garden Cottage and enjoyed the peace and quiet of the gardens. Also we took full advantage of the many walking trails in the local area. The kitchen is well equipped and the beds are very comfy. We would love to come back again!"

"My wife and I spent a very pleasant week at Cygnet Cottage, using it as a base to explore the Northumberland Coast and local area. This particular accommodation is ideal for a couple. The living area is well furnished and comfortable. The kitchen equipment all worked fine and there was an adequate supply of crockery, cutlery, and tools. The bathroom was small but perfectly usable with a decent, electric, shower. Upstairs was the bedroom with good storage facilities and a comfortable double bed...

"We loved our stay at The Yair. We booked it for its proximity to the river Tweed for fly fishing and found that the river runs past the property; complete with fishing hut and a gillie! The property’s owner was great in his communication and was available for anything we needed. It was fascinating to learn from him about the history of the property. Our cottage was beautiful and the hot tub was a nice addition. We would stay here again, independent of fishing."

"Lovely cosy cottage with gorgeous views. Owner was really friendly checking we’d settled in ok. Great location (as long as you have car) to get to nearby towns and attractions. Shame there wasn’t a pub within walking distance (as the road was too risky to walk on at night), however, the food and staff at the local pub in Yetholm (approx 1.5mile) were lovely and welcoming and food great! The only criticism I’d have of the cottage is that the bathroom and some decor could do with updating, however...

"The room was clean and the bad was comfortable. I rated lower because we assumed breakfast was available as there are a few photos of the breakfasting room on the site. Also the tea and coffee facilities are in a communal area downstairs, so a bit of a faff to make a cuppa. I think we would stay again as its decent value for Edinburgh."
"Set in such a tranquil, peaceful setting by the abbey and river, the hotel has ample parking and is a great place to relax and take long walks.
The staff were friendly and courteous.
It was nice to find a hotel offering vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options for meals. The breakfast was delicious."
"I’ve stayed at this hotel many times over the years, but it has gone downhill badly. There’s clearly been no upkeep or care put into the place. On my recent stay, one of the two rooms was tiny, not properly cleaned, the mattress was in poor condition, and the shower only ran cold. Really disappointing considering how good it used to be."
"This was my third visit and it’s the reason I return to Scotland. The property is so unique and I always have an amazing time, so much so that I took my nephew from London! The team did a great job looking after us! The lady who checked us in and delivered our breakfast in the morning was a real gem; I can’t remember her name- but she was a genuinely lovely lady and I’m sure it won’t be long until we return!!! Thank you!"
