This Colorado property is situated off the beaten path, but convenient to all the town amenities. The home sits at an elevation of 6,867 feet on 11 acres with views to the LaPlata Mountains. Surrounded by various fruit trees, a fish pond, Aspen trees, meditation garden, and wildlife that frequents the property daily.

This is the perfect getaway for a family group of 8 or a couples retreat. The spacious layout provides a dining room and table to seat 8, with a pub table to seat additional guests. Two upstairs master suites with bathrooms in each, gorgeous views and custom beds. The downstairs includes full size laundry, sauna to accommodate 5-6, two additional rooms and shared bathroom with tub. Covered Parking for two, and space for more vehicles.

Your trip may include destinations to Historic Downtown Durango to visit the world famous Durango-Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad (8 miles) , a ski-trip at Purgatory Resort (34 miles), hiking, fishing, biking, rafting, shopping, all these activities can be found close to your home-away from home.

The view from the deck of the mountains was so beautiful. We saw deer, wild turkey, fox, chipmunks, ground squirrels and loads of birds.The house was well stocked in the kitchen and laid out perfectly for us.

Durango Family Vacation

We loved the house, the location, and Durango. Plenty of room for all our family. Enjoyed the hot tub, grilled steaks on grill, and admired the view of the San Juan Mountains. Highly recommend staying here!

This property has lots of room and flexibility for accommodating adults, teens and younger children. There are a number of amenities such as hot tub with a great view and wildlife in the property surrounding the house.

Great cabin for our large family.

The cabin was clean and functional if a little worn and has great views from all sides of the deck that wraps around three sides of the cabin. Its an easy 15 minute drive into town. We really enjoyed the sauna and found management to be very responsive to any requests.

Magical Mountain Escape – Already Dreaming of Returning!

The short drive to town made everything super convenient while still keeping the getaway peaceful and idyllic. And let me just say, the hosts were amazing—super responsive and helpful, especially when we found ourselves in the middle of a massive snowstorm (talk about an adventure!).Without a doubt, we’d book this place again in a heartbeat! The only thing that could have made it even more perfect? If our pups could have joined in on the fun! But even so, this stay was unforgettable. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful stay! The house is beautiful and very roomy. Slept 4 couples very comfortably. House was nicely stocked with all the basics you need. The view of the mountains was gorgeous. Perfect Mountain Retreat for Families w/Adult Children

The hidden gems of this property just kept revealing themselves. Landscaping features, wildlife, goldfish pond, and so many more that I'll let you discover for yourself. Great location thats close to Durango, but also a true mountain retreat. Perfect for families with adult children who have families of their own. A++

Family Vacation

Wonderful Property. House had everything our family of 8 needed. Plenty of room for everyone. We cooked in several meals including one night of grilling on the deck/patio. The sauna and hot tub were a nice bonus. Beautiful sceneries and wildlife all around us! If you plan to go to hot springs in Durango be sure to pack your own beach towels.

We enjoyed the cabin and the Durango Area. The cabin fit our family of 7 well with a 1 year old. Clarity on the listing saying there is a playground. We discovered that it is a tree swing which is great, but not a playground. Kitchen was well stocked which was great for cooking!

3 Days of fun in the woods!

Property was spacious and comfortable. Large deck with great views. Plenty of room to get away from people if needed. We were on motorcycles so a little gravel road between the county road and the paved driveway is a little sketchy but worth the stay. Everything you need to have fun is there waiting for you!

Comfortable stay with a great deck

A group of friends were in Durango area for a wedding and stayed in this rental for eight days. The home is very spacious. With eight people staying there we all had plenty of room to relax and enjoy, especially the bride’s parents the week after the wedding. The bedrooms were all very comfortable and the deck was just awesome. Great views, turkey and mules strolling by every day and you could move around the deck to stay in the sun all day. Sunsets were spectacular. There is plenty of parking, even with two campers in the driveway. A fifteen minute drive has you in downtown Durango with no traffic. We had one issue with the dryer but that was on our last day there so no big deal and the owner had someone coming that day to look at it. All in all, this place was perfect for our group.

Great home in a great location

It's evident that a lot of thought has gone into making this house a great vacation rental. The kitchen is very well stocked, the furniture is comfortable and well-placed with plenty of lap-blankets for chilly nights and a nice selection of video's if nothing of interest is on the television for those quiet evenings after a busy day wandering the countryside. Everything is clean, well-kept and tastefully decorated. We didn't use the hot tub - but it sure did look inviting! Aside from staring out at the beautiful view, my favorite thing was watching the turkeys and deer come by early every morning to pause and drink out of the ponds and nibble on the grasses around the house. It was just the two of us, so we didn't go downstairs, but the two upstairs bedrooms were big and beautiful and the ensuite bathrooms would make it perfect for two couples as both suites offer plenty of room and privacy. And oh my gosh - the king bed was SO comfortable! Thank you for a much-needed relaxing getaway. We would not hesitate to come back to this beautiful house the next time we visit the area.

Great and not so great

Amazing place!! It is as beautiful as described. That’s the great part. The not so great? Owner contact was not working (recording said phone was disconnected). This was frustrating because my texts were not answered. There were no check in instructions. No where to report issues (one lamp was broken when we got there). It was frustrating because 7 people were depending on me for info. Oh, no instruction as to WHERE the lockbox was. Got there late, pitch black outside and had to search for the lockbox. Thank goodness VRBO helped me with the code. No thanks to the owner.
