The Pond House fit my needs and location very well for the time I needed to be in Charlottesville. It was very spacious and clean. You need a car as it is north of downtown near the airport. A quiet setting in a quiet neighborhood. It is a basement apartment, so no windows to appreciate the it’s situation, but very comfortable.

Ponderful!

Perfect location for visiting family just north of Charlottesville. The host was quickly responsive to my questions prior to our visit and I couldn't be more pleased with the accommodations. I would definitely choose to stay at The Pond House again!

Clean, comfortable, relaxing, and the pond is right outside for evening cocktails. Lots of places to go, Charlottesville is close ( 20min drive) quaint town with lots to do. We highly recommend this charming home.Jeff and Cindy

Exceeded My Expectations

I booked this place as a temporary place to sleep during my first couple weeks of work before permanently moving, so I really didn’t need much. Instead of just a place to sleep for a few nights, I got a place that felt like it could be home with a fully stocked kitchen, beautiful bathroom, and cozy floor plan that made me feel instantly relaxed. Not to mention an excellent selection of complimentary movies. If this place was available to rent, I wouldn’t hesitate to sign a lease. Loved my stay.

Nice area and conveniently located near Shenandoah National Park. The downstairs apartment was very clean and quiet except for the footsteps we heard past midnight every night (which didn’t really bother us because we are night owls). We had everything we needed for preparing meals, but we did struggle a little bit with the mini fridge and used coolers as back up. Overall, a nice place to stay and we would definitely consider staying there again if we are back in the area.

Basement apartment

Overall I am pleased with my stay. The location was very close to the airport and convenient to Charlottesville and the Shenandoah National Forest. Space was ample for one person or a couple. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes and necessities. Lots of clean towels and linens. It is a basement apartment so it is damp and musty which is to be expected in a basement. The footsteps overhead are quite loud but otherwise it is a quiet location. Stairs outside are a little steep and it is not wheelchair accessible.

Our stay at the Pond House was wonderful! We were in the area for a wedding and the cozy apartment was perfect for our time away from home. The Pond House was equipped with everything we needed and it was sparkling clean. The neighborhood was quiet and five minutes from the airport. We couldn’t have had a better stay.

The kitchen was excellent, better than most of this sort of rental, well stocked with nice pots and pans and not the common couple of scratched skillets many places give you. The bathroom was spacious with a really neat shower design I really liked. The area is very quiet and gives a country feeling which i was looking for, though it's right by the airport you don't feel like you are in a flight path or anything. The bed was comfy and the couch folds into a bed so my daughter could stay on that side comfortably. The climate control worked well. It was hot and humid in the area but the basement always stayed cool. There was an assortment of fun dvds to watch in our downtime. One major comment is that, at least in the basement apartment, there is a smell when you walk in that made me wonder if it had had mold or water damage. It wasn't exactly a mold smell but... something. Whenever being in it for awhile I would cease to notice it, but it would hit me each time when I walked in. It might need an air purifier or dehumidifier or something to be on permanently. I wouldn't stay here if you are highly mold sensitive. Minor comment, no hair conditioner is provided and you are out in the country so not easy to run next door and buy, make sure to bring it if you use it.

This is a sweet little studio style apartment that suited us quite well. It is in the basement. It was very comfortable for my husband and me and the location was perfect for visiting family in the area.
