The rooms can benefit from some TLC

The room was very worn out. The bathroom curtain had mold all over the place. The carpet was damaged all around the room, caulking in the shower was falling off, and the room had a strong smell to something we couldnt figure out. Bed sheets were clean.

The property is being renovated. The room was clean but had a musty smell. The mattress seemed new and was very comfortable. My room was by the stairs so it was noisy.

This location is a typical older style motel where the room connects to the outside sidewalk. If you’re trying to compare this location to a Marriott somewhere, then of course this location is going to fail. Putting this Quality Inn in the same box, however with other similar motels, I think it was perfectly fine. We had no complaints. Yes, some of the tile in the bathroom was aging, but we found the room clean, the beds were comfortable, the price was reasonable, and the breakfast was pretty decent as a continental breakfast.. I would stay here again.

This motel has obviously been renovated, but not super recently. The room and bathroom was very clean and all the linens and fixtures were in great working condition - lights, TV, fridge, coffee maker, hair dryer. The one downside is the old motel smell. To be fair, it didn’t smell like an old ashtray, like so many other old motels, but I wonder what else could be done to freshen the air? Maybe it’s difficult with wall units that are filtering air from the outside where other people are smoking and car exhaust is coming in from the parking lot and nearby highway?
