"Very nice cottage. Parking right outside. Great view of the water, despite a row of cottages diwn the hill. You could hear the water at night. Has a 360 degree wrap around deck. Bed was comfy. There were lots of extras....i think they thought of everything. It was a quick drive to the parks and restaurants. I locked myself out, and the host was quick to help me. It was clean. I loved the bathroom mirror....now i want one. Just one suggestion: My husband is quite tall. The living room chairs are small. He looked really uncomfortable, but he just didn't want to hog the couch for 2 days. I felt bad for him. Lol The couch was long, though, so he got a nap. "

"Everything was as described! House was in a great location (Go across the parking lot to George's for lunch if you're hungry). Easy access to all highways and the train into Chicago.Beds were comfortable. Everything worked as it should. Kind of wish there was a tv in the bedroom and the couch was kinda lumpy, but nothing that would make me change my rating.Overall was a great stay and we will definitely be back when we come to visit family."

"Loved staying here mostly because it is on a lake that is a birding hotspot. The staff is friendly and the rooms are big. Our room had a patio overlooking the lake. Lots of birds. Scenic. Housekeeping was friendly and helpful. They are remodeling so can’t wait to see the new look. Breakfast is OK. Nearby lots of restaurants and shopping and the National Park. "

"The room ac kept turning on and off every few minutes and didn't cool the room down. There is a main road right next to the hotel and an interstate highway just beyond that and our room faced them. I'm a lite sleeper and the noise from traffic kept me up most of the night. The fire alarm for the entire building went off around 3am and we evacuated the building and it took about 45 minutes before we could go back to our rooms. The place is not fancy, but the room and beds were clean. The common areas of the hotel, such as hallways, elevator and entry carpeting needs some cleaning and updating. The breakfast is not bad, but the breakfast area is real small and there is not enough room for everyone. No one was at the front desk the entire time we were there, instead there was a phone and a note to press a button and a few minutes later someone would come to the desk. The price was good compared to other such rated hotels in the area. I think the rating for this hotel was too high. I would not stay at this hotel again; there are a lot of other hotels in the area for about $20 more per night. If the only thing that matters to you is low cost, then I would recommend this hotel, it is ok, but not good or great. "

"This was the second most best up place I’ve ever stayed at in the USA. No elevator and no rooms available on the first floor so my back hurts from carrying my super heavy suitcase up the stairs. It barely passed the test as somewhere I would sleep as it had clean sheets and most things appeared to be wiped down, but the floors (although uncarpeted which I greatly prefer as it avoids terrible odors etc)were pretty nasty with all kinds of smudges, scrapes, goobery stuff, the walls were disgusting and looked like they hadn’t been painted/refinished in decades, the hallways were disgusting carpet, the office chair had dozens of multicolored blotches, scratches etc etc…the list goes on. It was the cheapest hotel with ratings above 7.0 (it was right at 7.0) which is why I chose to stay there but I think I’d prefer to spend $25 more for a better hotel. I will mention that there was a huge dumpster in the parking lot which might mean they’re finally renovating something but my room was certainly not one of them as of yet."
