The date above this was actually Sat, Oct 18 - Monday, Oct 20.We had a wonderful time! The cabin was going to be the Fir but due to heating issues they put us in the Elm. This cabin was clean and inviting. It did not have a TV but upon requesting it, one was brought to us in a very short time! Our reason for picking this resort is due to the fact it is pet friendly!!! This was very important to us!!!We will definitely consider another stay there in the future!!We loved the fact a lighthouse was nearby.
The cabin was nice, there was no heat, the manager said she was not responsible for heat, a maintenance person said there had been a problem with the heat before got it started but it went out about 20 minutes after he left. We were offered another cabin but told we should probably check and make sure there was heat there so we opted to stay where we were, grateful it did not get too cold at night. Did not enjoy the idea of cleaning up he place before we left nor taking the trash to a dumpster on Marina property. Will not recommend this place to anyone and will definitely not stay there again.
Nice small cabin on Tawas Bay, very near a Michigan state park located on the Lake Huron shore. The beach at the cabin lot is beautiful. My grandson spent hours swimming at the beach and fishing from a nearby dock at the marina.
Cottage was very close to all activities. We had a great time. Anything that was needed was easily accessible. Property manager very friendly and helpful.
We would stay here again. Great place.
I stayed at the Fir cabin for a week by myself to be close to Tawas State Park where the AuSable Valley Audubon hosted the spring birding event. The cabin has all basic essentials and was very clean. I loved how I could watch the sunset from the kitchen window or take a stroll out to the beach to have a real amazing view! I am a photogeapher and got some amzing sunset pics just outside the cabin on the beach. I plan to post some of the shots on their web site. under shotsbywayno. I have stayed here twice now, once with my wife and this time by myself. Love this rustic cabin, very peacfull and relaxing. The cabin has just the basic essentials for cooking and the bathrooms were very clean but small. The gas log fire stove was amazing on cold nights and the water pressure was fanastic! Timberlane Resort also looks like a great place for a family to stay. One very small suggestion I would have is to put some kind of gluides under the kitchen leg chairs so they will slide on the tile easy and quietly. Thanks for another relaxing stay Timberlane resort!
Very nice, clean and close to the campground. Enjoyed the firepit on the beach in the evening and hiked during the day. Plan to come back and stay a little longer.
This worked well for my husband and me and our dog. It is quite difficult to find properties that will allow the family dog to come along. Terri was very flexible and allowed us to change our 3 day stay so that we could avoid extremely hot weather. There as no one coming in behind us.
While not fancy the Fir cabin was quintessentially “Up north” .
We would stay here again.
We were presently pleased by the cute cabin. It had new fresh linens and the basics of home. The beach however was disappointing. I found many (>10) rusty nails and some glass on the beach. There have been many beach fires and burnt wood and trash is scattered throughout. This property has the potential to be lovely if they cleaned up their most valuable commodity....the beach.
We stayed in the Fir cabin. All the amenities were 1st class. The beds were so comfortable. A full kitchen. The only thing I would suggest is new couch and an extra living room comfy chair.
We really enjoyed our stay. Quiet and clean. The beach and water were awesome. My boxer loved the water too!!

Falsely advertised...NOT a Three bedroom
We rented this property because it was three bedrooms with beach access. When we arrived we found only two bedrooms, living room, and kitchen. The two bathrooms are attached to the bedrooms which meant if someone is sleeping in the bedroom you can’t access. Luckily we brought a blow up mattress with us. We slept on that and our children slept in their pack in plays. Most of the windows were inoperable with holes to the outside. The one bedroom had no working outlets. I would say the cabin was fairly clean, but overall disappointing.
Although there is a beach, you can’t walk the beach. There is a marina to one side and overgrowth on the other side. Pretty disappointed in the rental. Spent most of our time out of the cabin.

Cabin (Fir) in need of updating and cleaning but nice beach
Staff was nice. The beach was nice. Friendly people. The cabin we stayed in was dark and musty. The linens were old and mismatched. In dire need of updating. We left early and the property manager was understanding and gave us a refund
Nice it was on the lake, you can see the sunset. Very beautiful, also had a marina right next door to us you can pretty much rent anything you wanted they had it.

Very rustic, beach not safe
Cabin was smaller than pictures,
Windows broken, hard to open.
Electric outlets in bedroom not working, see outside with gaps in walls, not enough silverware 3 forks 3 knives, beds covered with plastic very uncomfortable. Talked to other cabins across the street had no plastic, beds like camper beds. Now the beach, not maintained traveled with a toddler, found broken glass and nails on beach, beach not maintained, dirty.
Timberlane Resort is a great set of rental units right on Lake Huron. There is a variety of options from small cabins to a few houses. We stayed in Fir Cabin which has 2 bedrooms AND 2 BATHROOMS! That was a huge plus since we were staying with our 2 teen boys. The showers were small but that is typical in most cabins. The place was clean and EVERYONE we met there was friendly. Many of the workers chatted with us and made sure our stay was going well. The best part is the beach is RIGHT THERE! Just a short walk from the cabin and we were swimming. Having Jerry's Marina next door was great as we could check out a kayak and we got a discount off our pontoon rental. East Tawas and Tawas City are a short drive away which was very convenient. We highly recommend staying at Timberlane Resort.
