The COVID-19 pandemic has ushered in dramatic changes to the way we travel. If you're planning a holiday in Eastern Dolomites, these tips will help you navigate travel's newest challenges:

• Investigate if any travel restrictions apply to your destination and origin before locking in a flight. Also check if there are any requirements you'll need to follow on arrival, such as installing a contact tracing app.
• When you go through airport screening, do not remove your face mask. You will be asked to lower it briefly for identification purposes. Anyone refusing to wear a mask may face civil penalties and may also be denied boarding.
• Rather than handing a TSA employee your boarding pass, position it directly on the scanner yourself. Once that's done, hold it up for inspection.
• TSA is now permitting passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on bags. This will need to be removed from your bag for screening.
• To reduce handling during the screening process, place items such as your phone, coins and keys into your carry-on instead of into the bins.
• If you're bringing food through the security checkpoint, put it in a clear plastic bag and then into a screening bin. This reduces the likelihood that a TSA employee will need to handle your carry-on bag or food container for inspection.
