"Very unique space! We only had two of us but could have one or two others. Bed upstairs was very comfortable. Used the downstairs space to get ready for our wedding. Rustic brick and nice furniture made for good photos. "

"I reserved another night on Expedia, but didn't tell the front desk. The guy af the front let me stay way after check out not knowing I reserved another night. When he called he was very nice, abd checked me in the same room. I will stay here everytime I'm in town. "

"Booked with Expedia who said hotel acknowledged reservation but at check in, said no reservation. Front desk has no computer. Expedia tried calling multiple times but call was disconnected. Given room and resolved in AM. Room door didn't lock. Bed stiff. Shower scorching hot. Cleanliness very questionable. Recommend driving 30 miles to another hotel."

"Great place to spend a weekend or week away! The kayaks and canoes were amazing to spend time out on the lake and river. Nearby nature preserves allowed for some fantastic hikes. Comfortable beds and great spaces for lounging and cooking with an incredible porch with view of the lake to watch the bald eagles and herons while sipping your morning coffee. Highly recommend!"

"We had the best experience from the first contact with Aubrey to our first tour of the place to our countless questions and our stay. It was clean, comfortable , and beautiful! Great place for families to meet and relax around the fire or in the beautiful dining room or the many other rooms. We appreciate having our own space with private bathrooms. We can’t say enough positive things about the place."

"Host allowed us to check-in an hour early. The main headline of this property — and the “popular amenities” section — highlights a hot tub, which was one of the main reasons we booked. I understand that things can break unexpectedly, but the hot tub issue was only disclosed one day before arrival (and only after I asked about it). By that time, rebooking wasn’t an option. What made the situation disappointing was not the breakdown itself, but the host’s dismissive and rude response when I asked for a price adjustment consideration.The setting is beautiful, the home was clean, and our kids loved the heated pool and fishing on the lake. However, there were other issues that impacted our stay:Wasps inside the home and nest in the screened in porch, creating a safety concern.Grill appeared not to have been cleaned in years.One downstairs bedroom had no curtains, so we had to cover the windows for the kids to sleep in.This property has great potential, but guest service matters. A little understanding and problem-solving would have gone a long way toward making this a great stay despite the hot tub being out of order."
