Come enjoy this unique & historic adobe building with one king bedroom and one queen bedroom between the ski valley and Taos town! It is expertly designed with local touches as well as modern amenities! Central Heat and AC which is rare in Taos.
Locally hand carved cabinets, GE Cafe Range appliances, Smart TV's in each room, DESKS for remote workers, Fiber WiFi, and 100+ year old building all add to the funky charm.
The Space:
This amazing space is filled with natural light and local artisan crafts and furniture pieces. Please take care of the delicate items in the unit as if it is your own home! This unit may not be suitable for young children due to the delicate nature of the items in the home.
KITCHEN: This kitchen has locally HAND CARVED cabinets and a designer backsplash. While the kitchen is smaller, it has GE Cafe Range appliances, pots/pans, a coffee machine that makes both a single cup of coffee as well as a pot of it and plenty of utensils/plates/cups/spices/etc for you to make a basic meal.
LIVING ROOM: This space is great for gathering over a cup of tea after a long day on the ski slopes or on movie nights. We have a 65" inch smart tv as well as an L-shaped sofa, coffee table, and a cool hand-woven "hand" chair as a social media corner (please tag @diyaESQ on IG for a chance to be featured!).
QUEEN BEDROOM (front -near the street): This space has a bit of road noise since it's very close to the main street through town (lighter sleepers are not advised to be in this room, even though the streets aren't nearly as busy at night). This has a QUEEN-sized bed with a luxury memory foam mattress (14") and a desk plus printer for the traveling worker. A 50" smart TV and clothing rack complete the space.
KING BEDROOM (farther away from the street): This space has a smaller SmartTV (45"), a king-sized memory foam mattress and platform bed, and nightstands. An electric heater keeps you warm at night!
BATHROOM: This designer bathroom has been painstakingly remodeled to perfection with a french door shower, hand-carved cabinets, and a bone-inlaid mirror. We provide soaps, conditioner, shampoo, and body wash.
NOTE: This is a 100+-year-old building. Quirks and imperfections will be apparent despite the recent remodeling. We have central heat and cooling as of fall 2022! Woot!

We really enjoyed cooking meals here. The mattresses were comfortable. So close to Cids, a big organic foods store for groceries. Location was central to most attractions, so would definitely recommend.
This was a great house for our family! It was the perfect size for us and our two small kids. We loved being close to downtown and appreciated the well-stocked kitchen for cooking. The house is a short drive to the Children's Museum, which is great for indoor play, and Twirl, which has a stellar outdoor play area.
We had a great month-long stay here - the house had everything we needed and has really cute decor! It’s a quick 25 minute drive to Taos Ski Valley, right across the street from Orlando’s (awesome New Mexican food) and a short 5-10 minute drive to downtown Taos. WiFi worked great for two people working remotely. Highly recommend!
My husband and I met my parents in Taos to see a concert. It got canceled due to rain, so we ended up coming back to the rental and ordering food. It was great and a beautiful atmosphere to spend with the family! It wasn’t right in the congestion of downtown but close to everything!
The owner and property manager were so great and easy to communicate with. We had to change our dates slightly and they accommodated us with ease! I would definitely stay there again and again!
Right across from one of the best restaurants in Taos, Orlando’s! Close to the plaza and shopping. Our host, Steve, communicated with us promptly and was always helpful. The premises was very spacious, clean, and our little pup, Chase, felt right at home!
We had a wonderful stay at the house! We were holding a very low-key girls weekend celebrating our bride-to-be friend, and we couldn’t have had a better home as our base. The kitchen is just gorgeous with its beautiful gold touches, and we had almost everything needed right on site. Owner was extremely responsive and we loved local restaurants (we went to Orlanodo’s, Medley, and Manzanita Market (plus Chokola!) Definitely recommend this spot for your stay.
The property was beautiful inside. Unfortunately the front door drug on the floor which made getting the luggage in and out a bit difficult. The front of the house is approximately 20 paces from US Hwy 64 which is the major traffic artery for Taos so the traffic noise day and night was an issue.
Overall we enjoyed our stay. Only reason for 4 stars was the Ac didn’t work and I messaged the property manager and never heard back. It was really stuffy and hot and we couldn’t open any windows.
Also, it’s on the main road - great location to shops/ sites, but would have preferred it to be set a bit more off the main drag.

Beautiful inside but so many issues. Owner was helpful but some things couldn't be resolved. Internet connectivity was impossible.

Our visit to 1113 Paseo del Pueblo in El Prado NM was a disappointment.
The online guide provided by Velo was the worst guide of all owner owned vacation rentals we have visited. I would recommend a top to bottom review of the guide with emphasis on each individual rental.
The guide did not provide any useful information about the property and visiting in Taos. Many internet links linked to nothing.
The email and text messages with respect to entry and closing procedures were OK.
I do not know the time difference between the last rental to ours, but on opening on our arrival the unit had a musty unused smell.
Quality of towels and linens leave a lot to be desired.
We anticipated that an iron and ironing board would be provided. None could be found upon arrival. Communicated with local manager and was told that iron and ironing board were in one of the several cabinets. I said the cabinets were all locked. He said the keys were in a lockbox behind the master bedroom door. Fortunately, the lockbox did not have a code to open. Found the keys, open the cabinets, found the iron but no ironing board. Not a problem, pressed clothes is not a requirement in Taos. There was no information in the guide concerning keys to the supply cabinets.
The online photos of the surrounding area and interior are grossly misleading. The area around the unit is a dump.
I will never rent property associated with Velo again.
