Pet Friendly A-Frame Cabin @ Dawson Lake/Moraine View State Park

Gut rehabbed A-Frame Cabin located across the street from Moraine View State Park. Relax with nature around you in this peaceful getaway. Hang out on the front or back deck and watch the deer, wild turkeys, birds, and foxes who are your neighbors. Forest behind you, and Moraine State Park/Dawson Lake in front of you. Use the secret trail to walk to Dawson Lake-Moraine View State Park, for fishing or swimming at Black Locust beach in <5min. Kayak, canoeing, paddle boats, paddle boards for rent at Moraine View Restaurant in the Park.

Equestrian Horse Trail access right across the street. Hunting area access 1/2 mile away.

Property is located on a quiet country road across the street from Moraine View State Park which is located in between LeRoy, Downs, and Ellsworth, IL.

There are other residences on either side of the cabin on this country road, however it's very quiet and peaceful. The loudest thing you'll hear are birds! :)

There are many restaurants, shops, bars, grocery, coffeeshops located in LeRoy, IL and Downs, IL which are less than a 10 min drive from the cabin.

Sleeping Loft has a King size Memory Foam Bed, a Queen Sofa Sleeper on the first floor, and a twin air mattress and air pump in the side table next to sofa bed.

Kitchen has an Infrared Cooktop Stove+pots/pans that can be stowed in cabinet underneath for more counter space, as well as a toaster/convection oven combo, microwave, coffee maker, crockpot, dorm fridge, freezer, Pots/Pans, Large George Forman Grill, Outdoor Weber Charcoal Grill, and Dishware/Silverware/Utensils provided.

Flatscreen Smart TV with streaming and a DVD Player in Living room, movies provided. Wooden stairs to sleeping loft with 3 safety handles. Stairs can be stowed for more living room space, instructions in the PDF after booking and also in the Cabin Welcome Book on kitchen table.

A/C units on main floor and Loft. Baseboard heater next to the Kitchen table, which seats 5.

PET FRIENDLY property :)
Please bring a dog runner and leash for your furry friend, for everyone's safety they must be leashed while outside at all times.
Pet Water bowl on the back deck and scooper provided.

Large back deck with patio set and umbrellas, and Weber Charcoal Grill with utensils.
(Please keep pets away and out of the beautiful wildflowers that surround the back deck.)

Happy Anniversary to Us!

A last minute getaway exceeded our expectations! We wanted an affordable getaway with peace and quiet as well as the opportunity for daytime hiking and coffee on the patio. This property delivers!Everything was exactly as we needed. We brought a lot of our own food and drink and had plenty of storage and options for cooking/heating things up. It was also so convenient to be able to go to nearby LeRoy to get some items we forgot. If you are not used to well water be sure to bring your own water. Thank you, Abbey, for a perfect stay!

Quiet getaway perfect!

A perfect quiet getaway! Lots to do with the state park a short hike away! Loved the fire pit! Enjoyed the wildlife in the back yard! Would highly recommend!

Nice place to get away.

The A-Frame cottage was a very nice place to get away for a couple of days. It was just the right size for the 2 of us and our dog. It is located right near a state recreation area to hike around in. Bloomington was only around 25 minutes away for restaurants or anything else that was needed.

Nice little getaway from everything place.

Nice place right next to the Moriane Veiw State Park. Dawson Lake has great fishing and a concessions the makes real great food. The sleeping situation may be a little challenging for older folks but it was a getaway house the our dog LOVED!

Exactly what we needed

Charming cabin in great location

This was a great cabin at a great price. It is located right across the street from the state park, so it is an amazing location. The owner was very responsive to all my questions. I would stay here again.

Had a technical difficulty with the WiFi. Owner responded quickly and fixed the situation. The a-frame is a sweet little place.
