Wonderful house with wonderful views in a wonderful location
We really enjoyed our stay at this property for an Easter long weekend with family and dogs. The house was perfect for our family group with lots of space for all. We enjoyed the beautiful sunrise and sunset views and the local visiting wildlife. The generous breakfast provisions were much appreciated. The location was so convenient for many of the Clare Valley attractions.

Wine Region with the Dogs
This is a truly wonderful, rustic, spacious homestead on top a knoll with expansive views in all directions. Comfortable and well appointed, we were thrilled to take the canine members of our family along. Perfectly located, major wineries were close by and it's just a stone's throw to the town centre of Clare. Highly recommended.

Celebration of Birthdays
Our group consisted of 3 generations who stayed at Clare View House to celebrate birthdays. The property was perfect to cater for all our needs and also allowed for our pampered pooch to join in the celebrations. Stunning views complemented our stay along with the special touches left by the hosts.

While the location was superb there were a great many disappointments from this booking.
Very poor attention to detail. At nearly $1000 a night for our group of 7 adults this was extremely disappointing. This property is only suitable for three couples with only three bedrooms. The decor was very poor with old furnishings that felt second hand and dirty. Interior decorating included plastic plants such as three plastic roses in a dirty vase in the bathroom. The high end magazines on the coffee table were dated from 2018 to 2020. The rug was filthy dirty. The towels were old and hard. The shower curtain was partially off the clips. A down light light fixture was hanging out of the ceiling. One of the beds has a wooden frame around it higher than the mattress, very uncomfortable. The house was infested with hundreds of millipedes every night coming straight under the doors with no insect guards or control. Generally this house was not clean enough and bows not match how it it priced and marketed. We had to contact the owner to get a key to access the laundry which was for staff only. General upkeep of the property was very poor. Very disgusted with having paid so much for what felt dirty and used.

Well thought out rental!
A nice easy process to rent a pet friendly house over Christmas. Everything you could want was already there which made our stay awesome. Communication in the lead up was perfect, hosts were very willing to help out where they could.

Beautiful setting
Lovely house in a beautiful setting, close to Clare Valley township. For the price would have expected a few more condiments for breakfast such as spreads for toast, jam, peanut butter, honey and perhaps a nicer loaf of bread than Wonder White! Also no English Breakfast tea, but plenty coffee pods and other breakfast provisions. Had read a review about not enough firewood, which we used in the first night, but had brought some ourselves which was mostly used. Nice touch with bubbles and chocolate on arrival. Would go back.

Beautiful location
This property is beautifully situated and has stunning views from every window. It's very private and quiet. We were able to take our dog, and the owner even supplied a comfy dog bed for him. We appreciated the various special touches - provisions for a cooked breakfast (including milk and juice), champagne, dog bowl, etc. The supply of firewood was limited, but there was enough for a fire each evening. There was no washer and dryer, even though it was listed on the amenities inclusions. We would have liked to explore the beautiful property, but there were sheep and alpacas in the paddocks (guests are asked not to enter into paddocks where there are alpacas) so we were unable to explore. Such a stunning property though, and we thoroughly enjoyed the views, the fireplace and the thoughtful touches that made us feel welcome. We'd stay there again.

There is no dishwasher in the house and its not listed on the basic amenities but Ill still check to update. also dryer facility is available, its just you have to inform us in advance so that we can leave the laundry open. Very nice getaway in the country
My wife and I wanted a place a bit away from town but still close enough to easily drive in for dinner. This was the perfect location. An old, but updated country house on a hill with views in every direction. It was cool while we were there but the wood stove and electric blankets combined with the split system kept it cozy. We had friends drive up and visit us during one of the days and before going to dinner and they also commented on how nice the location is. It was a few minutes drive to our bicycle rental for an easy ride on the Shiraz bicycle trail. We would visit again.

Dog friendly winery stay perfection!
I stayed here with 5 friends for New Years in the Clare Valley with my dog too. It was a great location that was perfect for a group of friends, the house is spacious and comfortable.

Almost perfect stay.
Great location to stay when doing the wineries or looking for relaxation. However we had to leave one night early due to Covid 19 lockdown. Very disappointed we couldn't get a credit or refund on our final night . We had a lot of trouble trying to contact the owners.

Breathtaking views
Had a wonderful experience. Fantastic views of the surrounds valley. Wood fire place and everything you would need is supplied. Some more storage area for food etc could be useful, and the bbq has bottle was empty. But overall hard to fault it. Would book again!

Beautifully placed and well maintained property. Far exceeded my needs!
A wonderful location with all the amenities you could possibly need. I stayed on my own, with my Rottweiler, in this lovely property. It would be suitable for many more people with the lovely open plan living and kitchen. I was surprised how cool it was in the peak of summer! The only thing missing was the coffee machine 😌 Thank you for the getaway!

Nice spacious house
Pretty nice place & grateful we could take the dogs. Very comfortable & great spa. Tried to contact the owner but no response with regards to internet access for the smart tv. No mention anywhere of internet do keep this in mind as it’s on the listing. As is coffee machine but there’s just old instant coffee.

Beautiful old cottage in a serene location
Beautiful old cottage with amazing views of Clare Valley all around. The property is maintained well with three lovely bedrooms and a well stocked kitchen. Close enough to the city and great wineries but far enough to provide a really peaceful and quiet stay. The added advantage - the sunset view and farm animals (alpacas, sheep) for the kids to see! Great stay!

Beautiful house with 360 degree views of the Clare Valley
Wow. This house is amazing. It sits on top of a hill with uninterrupted views across the Clare Valley. The house itself is made of stone and it stayed cool during three days over 30 degree. Large kitchen and interior living spaces, plus lots of outdoor options with chairs and tables around the house to enjoy all the different views. Enjoyed sitting and watching the alpacas, sheep, ducks and ducklings, kangaroos and native birds around the property. The bed is comfy, bathroom is very clean, and kitchen has everything you need. Great location to visit the local wineries, with some in walking distance. Very enjoyable and relaxed stay at Clare View House.

Great views
We had a great stay in Clare Valley and the house at Clare View offers beautiful 360 degree views. The only minor disappointment was the welcoming bottle of wine, we had expected a local wine and were a little shocked that it was a WA wine when the property is surrounded by world class vineyards. A minor point but we felt local wines should be promoted at every opportunity. Otherwise, great location and lovely touches with the well stocked breakfast. Thank you

Location the main plus - a few improvements would raise the score
Fabulous location- views gorgeous and very quiet. We were a group of 3 couples staying for a weekend to do the Riesling trail and explore the wine region. The house is well set up with nearly everything you would want. We had planned a shared dinner on our first night and the oven took a bit of working out ( no instructions) it was s surprise to discover there was no dishwasher. Similarly ( we should have checked) but no coffee machine or coffee provided for a small plunger was a big is appointment when there is no cafe nearby or open before 9 at the visitor centre. This may not be a big deal to some guests but in 2019 I think a small pod machine at the least would be expected by most travellers. Communication was ok but the owner asked for payment a week earlier than originally stated and also asked how we would like the beds configured. On their website the third bedroom states 2 singles and a double but that the singles can be converted to a King. We asked for this and it was not acknowledged or provided so we slept in the double. The double was lower to the ground and had a firm mattress which resulted in backaches unfortunately. Second bathroom had excellent water pressure and hot water but a challenge to direct the shower rose from not wetting the bathroom floor. A bit old and tired but functional. Overall I agree with most of the reviews about the house and provisions apart from points raised. If you like white bread and Nescafé instant coffee with your breakfast you’ll be happy (!) Hopefully this feedback may help to improve a few things

Good stay but lots of rules
Lovely spot to stay in Clare, lovely setting. Enjoyed the breakfast and bits that were left for us to enjoy. There were lots of rules for this house, so many that it made being there a little stressful. I.e. fire wood was rationed, only allowed to use the spa once, couldn’t leave the heater or lights on. Whilst I understand resources are precious and we don’t want to be silly with waste the rules were a little over the top. We often travel and stay in people’s homes, but have never experienced anything so strict. The only other thing was that the bed was quite hard so bring a mattress topper if you can. With this being said, it was a reasonably cheap stay and we would consider coming back.

i must say the house was delightful -spacious , clean ,and in a beautiful spot on top of a hill with great views. The down side was that the beds were quite hard and uncomfortable and the wood supplied lasted only for a few hours on our first night . Luckily we were able to source more from friends.Breakfast supplies were plentiful and would have given 5 stars but for the two issues. sue

Great stay!
We had a wonderful stay at this property. It was clean, spacious, comfortable and had beautiful views. Toddler and pet friendly too. The breakfast provisions were much appreciated! Our toddler loved watching the alpacas, sheep and kangaroos surrounding the property. We would definitely recommend and stay again!

Peaceful views glorious.
Would recommend this to two people or more. My hubbie and I stayed 4 nights. Kitchen had everything you needed. The log fire was warm and in morning the air conditioner warmed the house while you waited for the fire. Peaceful. Spa great. If we stay in Clare again we would definitely look to stay again.
