Staff friendly and helpful . Rooms cleaned well . Good bed linen . Room air conditioning good and not too noisy . Walk along the river to restaurants on the flat . Porto very hilly but funicular railway useful to take you up the hill into the city .

We had the best experience in our Porto vacation having stayed at nice and clean hotel.

Our stay at 1872 River House by Olivia in Porto was truly exceptional. The hotel is perfectly located right in front of the river, in the heart of the touristic area, yet it maintains an intimate and charming atmosphere. Everything is within walking distance — major attractions, beautiful viewpoints, and countless restaurants just steps away. The hotel itself is small but absolutely beautiful. It has a unique historic character, with ancient Porto vibes that make you feel as if you’ve stepped into another century, yet with all the comfort and elegance of a boutique stay. Every detail in the décor is thoughtful and well curated. Service was outstanding from the very beginning. Check-in was very fast, and they even accommodated us earlier than expected. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and they gave us wonderful recommendations for exploring the city. One of the most special touches was the surprise they prepared for my husband’s birthday — a bottle of wine, homemade cookies, pastel de nata typical of the region, and a handwritten card wishing him a happy birthday. It was such a thoughtful detail, and we truly appreciated the care behind it. Breakfast was served in the cafeteria right in front of the water, which made mornings even more magical. Breakfast was included and delicious. They also had tea, coffee, and fresh fruits available for guests throughout the day, which was such a nice extra touch. Overall, an unforgettable experience.
