"We loved staying in the yurt! We were walking the Rob Roy Way and treated ourselves to a bed for the night. Melanie was a really relaxed host and very welcoming, and made a killer breakfast in the morning which set us up well for a day of walking. "
"Our room was clean and comfortable with a beautiful view. I loved seeing the red squirrels at the bird feeders outside of our window. Breakfast was hearty and delicious, and John was very friendly and has a great sense of humor!"
"A great stay the owner was fantastic but had to do everything on her own. I do like a change of bedding and towels. The food was superb. overall four star."

"Every time we come back to the Royal, it never ceases to disappoint. The staff are the people who make this such a special and charming hotel. The warmest of welcomes and we were so well taken care of. Attentive and polite customer services, similar to that of Ashford Castle, that seems to be lost in many establishments these days. The only complaint we had, was that the bedroom was cold even with the small radiator up to its maximum temperature, and the fires had not been lit in the bar area or the library. (It was 5 degrees outside). The reason given was the chimneys hadn’t been swept. So bring jumpers and warm pyjammas!
Overall, though, I would always recommend this charming hotel, situated in the heart of glorious Perthshire. Food was great, good wines, board games in the library.
Just please have the fires lit, as would be expected in an old coach house, and to compliment the warm welcome that was given by the staff. The room was immaculate. And beautifully decorated. (Room 4- a twin)
Other restaurant to book within 5 minutes walk of the hotel, is the Deil’s Inn, and also the Deil’s Cauldron walk can be done easily from the hotel. Lots of lovely local shops and cafes within 2 minute walk. And if you are going to any events at Crieff Hydro, but would prefer the old style charm of a place, go to The Royal in Comrie, an easy drive to and from any events in Crieff.
Long live the Royal Hotel and all those who work there! Thank you for your kind hospitality. "
"The great breakfast reviews helped me choose where to stay. And it didn't disappoint.
We enjoyed the garden seating area and were made so welcome. We enjoyed using the fire too, such a treat! Amazing shower too. Thanks Melanie."
"The hotel was lovely, staff very helpful and friendly. Location was stunning. Our only disappointment was that the smokehouse wasn't open for us to purchase any of the salmon & smoked cheese "
"Great stay. Nice room with tea/ coffee etc and it’s always good to have a tunnocks caramel bar.
All staff were friendly and helpful.
Excellent breakfast , also had an evening meal which again was very good.
Definitely stay again "
"Loved: The owner, Sue, is amazing! She was above and beyond the sweetest, most attentive host! I appreciated her attention to detail and making sure my stay was as wonderful as possible.
The room was super nice! Loved the bed, wonderfully warm and comfy. The view of Loch Earn was beyond words, so beautiful! Very nice size bathroom with big bathtub and shower. TV, mini-fridge, kettle, and Keurig amenities in the room.
Kitchen and bar service very good. Beautiful hotel and grounds. Pet-friendly. Gorgeous area and grounds!
Note: public transportation is tough. Taxi service available. Also, if like myself and have mobility issues, note that there are no ground floor hotel rooms.
