Lovely stay

We really enjoyed our stay, it was a pity the hot water didn’t work in the cabin for two days but that didn’t spoil our time there. The house is in a lovely position and very quiet. We had many meals in so soon felt like home, another bathroom or toilet would be better for 10 people but all in all a lovely property.

Tranquillité et décompression !

Quinta typique avec une superbe vue dégagée dans les hauteurs de Faro invitant au repos. Piscine et bain de soleil très appréciable et communication avec Victor très agréable ! La literie mériterai néanmoins d’être renouvelée

A Pristine Hillside Retreat

I have to say pristine and quaint accurately describes the red house. We very much enjoyed our two weeks in the Algarve and the tranquillity plus great location of the house. We were five older folks who came in November. The weather was a crisp blue sky, plenty of sun and some chill at night. That was just fine, but be aware that your primary heating are wood stoves. The stoves worked well however and threw plenty of heat for this time of the year. You also need to take care about the steps in odd places, so you need to get used to them. Having said all that, the house was very unusual and the deck was beautifully situated to see Faro and the sea many miles away. We also has two dog visitors we dubbed black dog and red dog and we really enjoyed their company while it lasted. From this location Estoi and San Bras de Aportel are two unspoiled, local towns with much charm, plus some very good Roman ruins, some nice restaurants and food markets. We also easily accesses Sagres, Lagos, Tavira by car and Sevilla by bus from Sevilla for an overnight. We were well looked after by Vitor who supplied us with handyman support and plenty of wood for the stoves. After two weeks traveling around Portugal, the two weeks in the red house was perfect.

Ein zauberhafter Ort, ein wunderschönes Haus.

Das Haus ist abgelegen, gut für die Ruhe und um die Natur zu genießen. Dennoch ist das Meer nicht weit. Olhao war unser Favorit für Ausflüge ans Meer. Und dann Estoi, der Nachbarort ist sehr schön, fast malerisch. Alles im allem, wir hätten es nicht besser treffen können.

Urige Finca für Familientreffen

Die Finca ist ideal für ein Treffen mit der Familie oder sehr guten Freunden. Wenn man keine "Top Moderne" Anlage erwartet, sondern eine urige, authentische Finca, ist man hier genau richtig. Die Lage und der Blick oberhalb Faro ist toll, der Pool sauber und die Einrichtug zweckmäßig. In der kleinen Nebenwohnung ist das Hauptbett im "Wohnzimmer" und zum 2. Schlafzimmer fehlt die Tür. Also man kommt sich näher, deswegen die Empfehlung, mit der Familie zu reisen. Der Kontakt zu den Besitzern und dem Verwalter vor Ort ist perfekt! Freundlich, schnell und hilfsbereit. Die Küche ist groß und es ist alles da, um auch für 9 Erwachsene gut zu kochen. Geschirr ist reichlich vorhanden und der Geschrirrspüler wäscht wieder ab. Für uns der perfekte Ort für unseren Gruppenurlaub

Schön ruhig, liebevoll und mit Geschmack restauriert, gut ausgestattet

Schönes geräumiges, ruhig und etwas abgelegendes, liebevoll und mit Geschmack restauriertes Landhaus. Von der grossen Terrasse, mit hübschem Aussengrill, aus sogar mit Weitblick aufs Meer. Gut ein- und ausgerichtet mit allem was man braucht. Vermieter hilfsbereit und gut erreichbar.

Gorgeous Setting

Enjoyed the pool. The view is great. The setting is beautiful. The Estoi area Has many good restaurants. The property is central to the Algarve and close to the Autoroute, which gives easy access to most places in the Algarve. We stayed before and loved it. There are a couple of downsides. There is no air conditioning. There are a lot of ants. You can't leave bread on the counter long enough to make toast without your bread getting full of ants.

THE FABULOUS LITTLE RED FARMHOUSE

Our family stayed at the wonderful farmhouse for four nights. We loved the rustic environment. Having dinner outside under the stars was magical. The children played in the pool and walked around the grounds looking for wildflowers and bunnies. We took day trips to Lagos to see the cliffs and grottos, Olhao for a boat trip to the sandbar islands, and strolls through the palace, the Roman ruins, and Estoi’s plaza. The little red farmhouse is a very special place to stay. We thank Victor and Laura for your hospitality and highly recommend a stay at their home.

Magnifique séjour

Très agréable maison avec superbe vue sur les collines verdoyantes de l’Algarve et sur l’ocean. Tranquillité assurée et de grand espaces intérieurs et extérieurs pour toute la famille. Maison idéale et typique pour un séjour estival, un seul bémol, nous sommes venus en Avril et le temps pluvieux des jours precendents avait rendu la maison un peu difficile à chauffer et légèrement humide. Les équipements sont très corrects, la maison est très propre. En outre propriété idéalement située à quelques minutes des routes principales permettant de visiter l’arriere Pays de l’Algarve et les cotes. Consignes d’arrivee sur place simples, hôtes disponibles... parfait!

Perfectly situated to see all of the Algarve and beyond

My husband and I stayed and Victor and Laura's Alcaria Branca for almost 6 weeks during February and March. Our plan was to escape the worst of the Canadian winter in the sunny Algarve. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate and it was cold, rainy and windy for most of our stay. This didn't stop us from exploring, though, and every day we did day trips throughout the Algarve. Alcaria Branca is situated within about an hour's driving distance of some of the highlights of the area, and within about 2 hours you can be in Seville, Spain (not to be missed) or into the rolling hills of the Alentejo. The house itself was clean and the property manager, Vitor, was beyond great. Due to the weather we had to make full use of the heating sources (pellet stove, fireplace and portable propane heater) and he was there to maintain, stock and ensure our comfort. He checked in on us from time to time and he was always just a phone call away. The separate apartment (our daughter and son-in-law stayed there for a week) was charming and perfectly self-contained. We didn't use the swimming pool, but it's a lovely tiled pool that would be a godsend in the warmer months. The only reason this home didn't get a 5-star rating is that we found the bed a bit uncomfortable. This may be a personal preference, but both my husband and I found the bed in the master very hard. A memory foam topper would have made it perfect. Overall, this is a lovely home situated in farmland amongst orange and olive groves. And we thank the owners very much for a lovely stay.

Peaceful and quiet retreat

We stayed for 10 days in January 2018. Loved the location. The place is well equipped with all you need. It is a restored farmhouse of the area with charming vintage and antique qualities. Even though only 2 of us stayed here it would accommodate more. Enjoyed having breakfast in the warm sunshine looking down to the sea. When going to Portugal in January, many places are not insulated or heated. It gets cool at night. This farmhouse has a wood fireplace and a pellet stove and a portable gas heater. The heating was inadequate. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay there. We would return.

Excellent place to stay and relax!

This farmhouse was top quality in every sense of the word from its serene and quiet peaceful location to the beautiful light and airy interior with amazing furnishings.There was no amenity we couldn’t find, and the information left by other guests was also helpful for traveling to nearby sites and restaurants. The bonus for our family was a most adorable old dog who would visit regularly but not so much as a bark. Just loveable and friendly. We can’t recommend this lovely home enough. We definitely wish to return next Fall.

Amazing stay!

Laura and Vitor's home is a bit of heaven on Earth. Warm and welcoming home with all you may need during your stay. Vitor's cousin was very welcoming as well and always available. My family and I loved our stay!

Great spot for a family vacation!

We loved our time experiencing this local gem. We ended up cooking a lot of meals on the grill and preparing large breakfasts to eat outside on the picnic table with the beautiful vistas behind us! The "house book" was loaded with excellent detailed information for the best beaches and sights which made narrowing down all the choices a breeze! Thank you to the owners and house manager for being so communicative and responsive to inquiries. Great place to experience local flavor without all the tourists!!

THE PERFECT GETAWAY

MAJESTIC VIEW OF FARO AND THE SEA. THE HOUSE IS CHARMING AND WELL APPOINTED. NOTHING IS LACKING. THE LOCATION IS QUIET. THE AIR FRESH AND CLEAN. VITOR IS ATTENTIVE . WE'VE RENTED MANY PLACES ALL OVER THE WORLD AND THIS IS THE BEST SO FAR. NO SURPRISES OR DISAPPOINTMENTS WITH THIS RENTAL, JUST THE OPPOSITE. WE WERE MORE THEN PLEASED. OUR TIME HERE WAS SPECIAL.

Superbes vacances familiales dans cette maison authentique

On a adoré cette ferme restaurée typique de l'Algarve. Il y règne une ambiance chaleureuse et reposante. La personne qui nous a accueilli était très sympathique et nous a donné de bons conseils utiles à notre séjour. On a apprécié le confort de la maison et le grand espace des pièces. Rien ne manque. Les équipements sont importants. L'emplacement éloigné du village est très agréable et calme. La piscine est un atout important pour se détendre après des journées bien remplies. La vue sur les hauteurs de Faro est magnifique surtout le soir depuis la terrasse. On la recommande vivement ! Et espérons y revenir une prochaine fois.

Awesome Property!

We are a family of 5 from the U.S. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the unique nature of the home and peaceful setting. The town of Estoi is quaint and it is a breeze to get around the greater Algarve region from the home. The owners and house manager were always very responsive and all communication and information was timely and accurate. We highly recommend this property and will do so to family and friends. Obrigada pela estadia. Casa muito agradàvel, com tudo o que é preciso. O Vitor é disponivel para a chegada e ajudar em tudo. O sitio é bonito e muito calmo, com uma vista lindissima. Fabulous place with tons of space

My wife and I spent a wonderful week here this summer in this original farmhouse not far from Faro. It's a superb house with a nice view and plenty of space to accommodate a lot of people, and has a lovely outdoor area for bbqs. It's also excellently located for seeing lots of beautiful villages along the coast. Highly recommend this place!
