Fielding Lake State Recreation Site

Great place! Lots of wildlife, good restaurants, awesome nordic spa.

The lobby and grounds were absolutely beautiful. The staff was friendly and helpful. And the location was perfect. It is walking distances from shops and restaurants and the visitor center. The room I stayed in was very expensive, dark, and in need of updating. The light bulbs were mismatched; for example, over the vanity there were 6-8 lights but two or three were bright and the others were soft. The soaps and lotions were male oriented (they smelled like cologne). Alaska is beautiful, but it can be dark. To have all the furnishings old and dark, and then to have the lighting so dark was disappointing and a bit depressing. I understand the "old world" theme, but polish the brass, use furniture that coordinates with other pieces, and brighter lighting
