Depending on where you're coming from, your trip to El Dorado could be as easy as pie or it could go on forever. Here are some useful travel tips that will help you start your next unforgettable escape on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a stress-free experience if you've got all the right gear. Firstly, you'll want some toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare change of clothes and a good read. Next, find a spot in your carry-on bag for your mobile phone, a charger, any vital medications and maybe a neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to bring your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Sharp or pointed objects, like your precious Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and fuels, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft aren't the place for a fashion parade. Wear layers and pick shoes that are closed-toe, flat and easy to take on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to wander around the cabin or do some simple exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
