Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you prepare well enough. We've compiled a list of handy travel tips that will help get your Marquez escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be easy if you've got all the right gear. Firstly, you'll want a few toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare change of clothes and a good read. Secondly, make room in your carry-on bag for your phone and charger, any medications and maybe a proper neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to take your passport, travel docs and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like your beloved pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and poisons, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your main aim is to be as comfortable as possible. Choose slip-on footwear, dress in loose, natural fibers and don't forget to take a sweater in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a potential risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
