We've rounded up all the info you need to make your flight a stress-free experience. Follow our insider tips and you'll be speeding through airport security and exploring Tart in no time flat. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a comfortable experience if you pack the right gear. First of all you'll need basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare pair of socks and a few magazines. Next, find a spot in your hand luggage for your electronic gadgets, chargers, your important medications and perhaps a proper neck pillow as well. Lastly, remember to take your passport, travel docs and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like a Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and matches, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim is to be as comfortable as you can. Choose flat, closed-toe shoes, dress in loose, natural-fibre clothing and don't forget to take a pullover in case you get chilly in the cabin.
- The result of sustained periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clot condition that can affect some passengers during long flights. Lower your risks by staying hydrated, keeping your ankles and legs moving and wearing compression tights or socks.
