Best Western Aku Tiki Inn

8/10 Good

"It was nice and comfy for the most part. Housekeeping was really good. The air conditioning made strange noises. The nightstand table wasn’t straight against the wall. I didn’t even want to keep my phone on it. The nightstand table looked dangerous to me, the way it attached to the wall. There was confusion with their restaurant, Traders, from various staff members. On arrival, the desk clerk informed me the restaurant on-site was available for Breakfast, lunch, and Dinner, and it remained open until 10 pm. 2 days later when I was approaching to get dinner at about 5 pm, an employee informed me Traders was only open for Breakfast due to renovations, and it was currently closed. I had to get dinner elsewhere. The hotel is in a great location, with a bus stop right in front and with restaurants and souvenir shops within walking distance. I liked the pool area, and how I was able to sunbathe in a lounge chair and watch the ocean waves, without having to walk in cruddy sand. Overall, I was glad I stayed there."

Comfort Inn & Suites Daytona Beach Oceanfront

"When we 1st checked in the toilet wouldn’t flush and the sink had standing water. We had to call the front desk every day to request more towels and rags and sometimes had to wait for hours before we got them because they weren’t available. Our trash only got taken out 2 of the 5 days that we were there. I over heard several other guests complaining about the same service problems as well. The shower is only covered halfway with glass so the water gets all over the floor which is dangerous. 1/2 rooms had very little storage space to put your things. The fridge was not cold even when we put it on the coldest setting. There were gnats everywhere in the building and some trash that stayed in the hallway for days. There is a bar and grille next door that plays loud music all night so be mindful when booking. The location and breakfast were great and the staff was very nice but I will not be staying at this hotel again. "

"Needs a complete remodel. Front office is beautiful. Walk back to the building where the rooms are located, the building and at least our room needs heavy maintenance, painting, remodel. Was shocked especially for the price we paid. Donuts for breakfast gets old after one, plan on eating at the ihop across the street. Mary at the desk was the best during checking and following up with us. Front desk staff did not ask how our stay was, if everything was ok. A lot to work on."

"My stay at the Hilton hotel in Daytona, FL was okay overall. However, my main concern was that the bedroom was outdated, and the bed had visible stains on the side. In addition, you could feel the springs through the mattress, which made it very uncomfortable to sleep."

"The hotel room was lovely, comfortable beds. Shower did not have a door and the bathroom door didn't stay closed unless you locked it, awkward for our 8 year old diabetic since we don't allow him to lock the door for safety reasons. The restaurant in the hotel served our son regular pop after specifying twice, not the servers fault but it was a big problem for us that the machine lines were crossed. I'm also not quite sure what the "exclusive VIP" part of getting a room there is because we had to pay parking, no breakfast included, qns there was a private pool but all decent hotels on Daytona beach have that.. no private setup on the beach or anything. For the price, it's middling in my opinion. Nothing special, but the room was clean, beds comfortable and the ocean view was obviously good as it's on the beach."
