"We really loved the restaurant food options for dinner and the included breakfast was also very good. We loved the wait staff (and the receptionist!). Everyone was very accommodating and pleasant. They have seating outside overlooking the beautiful view and have a few swings there, as well, that our teenage girls used non-stop while we were there. Really beautiful quiet area, away from the hustle and bustle of the more tourist filled La fortuna close by. We borrowed a TV and watched a movie together a couple of nights and enjoyed the hot tub and pool, as well! We really enjoyed our stay. "

"I left my vacation 6 days early with no refund in sight due to the abundance of bugs inside my room such as beetles in my bed, multitudes of mosquitos in my room, spiders, you name it. The view is beautiful, there is one very nice man working there with good tips and info. The woman in the front of reception is not very helpful or nice. The shuttle to the restaurant off the property only runs once a day for free which they don’t tell you until the end and sometimes it comes early sometimes it’s 5-10 minutes late. The restaurant itself, the Blue Hibiscus was really good- would consider staying at the hotel connected to it instead of Sangregado. It was so far from the town itself too about 25-30 mins, nothing to do around expect Mistico which is cool for a day. ALSO- they’re doing construction and started at 7 am!! Finished at 5pm practically when the sun was setting- the crew used their tools and was banging up a storm super early. I hated my experience here and I would not recommend if you’re looking to relax and enjoy your money and time. "

"I stayed at the Lost Iguana for 9 days and it was absolutely incredible. The staff were absolutely amazing and treated me like I was family. I cannot say enough good things about this resort. I saw lots of wildlife on the property and the landscaping and resort were stunning. I will definitely be back in the future! "

"Breakfast was ok the fruits were fresh but the gallo pinto to dry. The rooms are big but outdated. No air conditioning. The surrounds are beautiful. If you don’t need air conditioned you will be fine. The bed is not comfortable neither the pillows. "

"We were given a room that was full of mildew. When we turned on AC to help it too smelled of mold. When I spoke to manager she said previous person did not complain, which just tells me they have poor quality control. (And that she was dismissing my concern). My son started coughing due to conditions and we talked to front desk about checking out early. Turns out when we first arrived I signed a form allowing no early check outs. Just make sure you look at room before you sign their paperwork. After we complained they moved us to a room more in keeping with how the rooms were advertised. So I think we were given a room that had not been renovated yet. In short, I agree with some of the other reviews, motel quality and staff not very friendly. Also if healthy food important to you- be aware they have margarine not butter, not the freshest ingredients. I thought given price, I was paying for better quality that just wasn’t there. For additional context- the sheets were thin, had stains, and back porch had sewer smell. "

"The food is very fresh and they take great pride in quality ingredients in their food and drinks. Each is a masterpiece both is taste and presentation! The staff are all amazing and the property is very clean, except for the pools which gather leaves from the trees above, but I appreciate it’s impossible to avoid. The tubing and zipline are a must try offered on the property and the guided walk and yoga beautiful experience. The thermal river is unbelievably beautiful and warm like a hot tub and clear to the bottom. You have to experience it to believe it. Lots of walking and steps but all worth it! Nothing but relaxation and beauty at this resort. The rooms are very functional and private and it was amazing seeing monkeys and birds everywhere. I would stay here again!"

" We stayed in the honeymoon suite and the room had one of the most spectacular view I’ve ever seen in Costa Rica. The room was clean and very spacious, with modern sinks, toilet, and showers. The bed was very comfortable, true to other reviews. Food at the resort is very good, though cocktails were a little disappointing for the price. Make sure you take the offered jungle hike and wear decent sneakers or hiking boots. It is absolutely gorgeous and we had fun for a couple of hours taking in every trail we could (don’t worry, there are shortcut trails too). We were frequently amazed that even on the trails that somewhere forty years ago, people put in all those pavers and tables and chairs in the woods! The front desk/reception has a whole book of tours you can sign up for including horseback riding and rafting, etc. We only stayed a couple of days so we just took in and enjoyed the property, hiked a lot, used the pool table, and stared at the magnificent scenery. For people who want to get away from it all for a few days, this is a great place to do so. "
