"Wow what a view! We had a lovely stay at the Hotel Golden Sun, very clean rooms refreshed each day. Lovely pool and beach with lots of sunbeds and chairs, friendly staff and only ten minutes walk to the village. A simple Greek hotel with the best location."

"This was my eighth trip to Greece & not a novice. This house is very high end, well stocked kitchen, 4 ensuite bedrooms, beautiful bathroom fixtures, etc. The infinity pool is beautiful & the view is unmatched. I was traveling with 5 other middle-aged to retired adults. We had 2 rental vehicles. I tried contacting the host via WhatsApp at his suggestion. Several tries & no luck. I contacted him thru VRBO. He replied that he gave me the wrong phone number. He could not provide me with directions or coordinates to the house so he met us in town. We followed him for about 10 minutes thru winding narrow roads, paved & unpaved roads, washed out roads, washboard roads, & potholes until we reached the end of the driveway & the road was extremely rough until we reached the house. The vehicles we had were not conducive for these roads. If you rent this house, it’s best to have a 4-wheel drive or truck. We traveled all day, were tired & it was about 9pm. The host suggested we don’t set the a/c too low because we could get sick going in & out of the house, from hot to cold, stating there should only be a 5 degree difference between outside & inside. We were warned about spiders, snakes, & scorpions. Obviously the host has no control over nature & was warning us of what we could expect. There are no hand railings for staircases & several people in our group needed them. Would recommend this property but be aware of the roads & spiders."

"Aufenthalt: 16. - 29.05.2026, Zwei Personen.Wir verbrachten einen wunderschönen Urlaub in der Villa Elia. Das Haus war eines der besten und angenehmsten, welches wir jemals gebucht hatten. Saubere, helle und hübsch eingerichtete Räume. Die Betten waren prima und es gab ein Deckbett und nicht nur das landesübliche Laken. Die Insektenschutz Fenster waren alle OK und hielten die kleinen Plagegeister draussen. Die Bäder ebenfalls sehr gut, mit Fenster und beim Duschen gab es keine Überschwemmung. Unser Mittelpunkt war natürlich die grosse Terrasse mit der überwältigenden Aussicht und dem tollen, sauberen und leisen Pool. Die ebenfalls grossen Terassen im Obergeschoß haben wir fast nicht genutzt. Großartig gekocht haben wir in der gut ausgestatteten Küche nicht, es ist aber alles dazu vorhanden. Der ordentliche Holzkohlegrill wurde aber genutzt. Über die gekühlten Getränke bei unserer Ankunft haben wir uns gefreut. Efcaristo dafür. Die Zufahrt zum Anwesen geht teilweise über schmale Feldwege, ist aber für einen PKW unproblematisch. Da wir nach später Ankunft in Kalamata für die erste Nacht in Messini ein Hotelzimmer gebucht hatten, konnten wir uns ausgeruht auf den Weg nach Finikounda machen und hatten bis zum Treffpunkt und Check-In reichlich Zeit zum einkaufen und Pause in einer hübschen Bar. Der Ort hat sich seit den 80ern/90ern weiter entwickelt. Hat aber noch Charme. Gut sortierte Supermärkte mit reichhaltigem Bäckerei-Sortiment garantieren eine gute Selbstversorgung."
