As if the having the ocean right outside your Fort Bragg getaway wasn't perfect enough, there's even enough space to bring your entire family! This 3,200 square foot beach house sits perched on MacKerricher State Park among dunes and protected nature. It's the perfect site for your next big family reunion or any getaway for everyone! Dogs are also allowed for a small nightly fee.

About four and a half miles north of Fort Bragg proper, this home is in the quiet village of Cleone, giving you easy access to Highway 1 as well as the seclusion you seek in a vacation. Both Lake Cleone, for a serene stroll, and the Purple Rose Mexican Restaurant and Cantina for homestyle food, are a short walk away from your front door. Right outside your getaway are the MacKerricher dunes and trails, a perfect place for a headland hike and a picnic. You can also visit fun and funky Fort Bragg for brunch and a stroll around local boutiques or come for dinner.

As you approach this oceanfront Fort Bragg home, you'll be welcomed by the sea fog and a rustic but well-maintained facade. Greet the rest of your party from one of the two decks as they trickle in. On a clear night, take out the provided telescope and see what you can spy.

On the bottom half of this home, you'll have a spacious den to convene and make plans for the trip (with help from the provided WiFi). Take a moment to write out postcards or record moments in your journal at the desk or watch the big game together on the cable-equipped TV before the new sofa and comfy armchair. Play cards or a board game at the four-seat table before the wall of windows - or you can simply gaze out at the spectacular view beckoning you to comb for pebbles in the sand.

This den also doubles as a room for children to have a sleepover on the sofabed. Two more bedrooms are available on this floor, each with memory foam queen beds.

Upstairs is the living room with brand new furnishings, kitchen, and more bedrooms. The living room has a second TV and sofabed - a perfect room for close friends to have an old-school sleepover if they want! Of course, this space also has huge windows with panoramic views of the ocean.

Make popcorn or even a Sunday dinner around the solid wood table in the fully stocked kitchen. Complete with all new stainless steel appliances, this kitchen provides all that you need. Pop a bottle of local wine to share on the upper deck while the kids play freely on the sprawling yard below.

This property is solar-powered and has a generator, so if the rest of the town is without power, this home will still have electricity and be nice and toasty!

If you've never explored the area, take a mini road trip down the coast for a day trip to Mendocino and Albion, the latter about 20 miles from the home. Since Fort Bragg is definitely the biggest town on the northern coast, you'll have the pleasure of finding little, hidden gems in the smaller towns you find along the drive. Nature walks and farm stands dot the area for a true California experience you can't get in the big cities.

You can't beat the location of this Northern California Coast vacation rental! Come see for yourself how beautiful the area is from your own private getaway!

This home is solar-powered, and it has a backup generator that supplies electricity to the home if the area experiences a power failure.

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us. The pet fee is per stay and ranges between $150 and $200, depending on the bedroom count, and will apply for each additional dog.

Maintenance
The house was very nice. Kitchen well equipped. But the dishwasher did not work. It was dirty inside it and dishes put away in cabinet also has stuck on food. Called in problem. They sent someone who did nothing. Second call and handyman came and pronounced it broken But this guy fixed the toilet which the first guy broke during his repair try. On leaving we mentioned to the cleaners that dishwasher was broken and they said this has Been an Ongoing Problem. The staff ignored this. Also there were several light fixtures which had burned out bulbs with no replacement available The location is great. The space is great. But someone needs to take care of it better.

Outstanding view/ocean access with lots of space
Hard to believe anywhere else could beat the spectacular views of the coast from here. No real close neighbors, very quiet. Comfortable and plentiful bedding as well as towels for the bathrooms and the hot tub. So much room upstairs and down for a large group. There are some quirks that can be attributed to the age of the place and the need for a bit of tlc. The only real disappointment we had is that twice during our stay pickup trucks came on to the property through the gate (locked by a gate code) without any notice. One was a roofing company truck that pulled in, turned around in the driveway and just left without a word. On another day, a pickup showed up with a man who said he was there to "fix the refrigerator." The refrigerator was working just fine. We had children with us and felt very uncomfortable with these unannounced visits. We reached out to Vacasa, who manages this property, without a single response still, even as I write this the day after our 1/2 week stay.

Older home in a great location. The view is amazing!! Lots of room for the whole family, 12 of us. There were dirty clothes left from the people before us which was not great. The railings on the stairs were wide enough for the kids to fit through, but we improvised and blocked them. All in all we enjoyed our stay very much.

The view
The view was the saving grace of this property. The house is old and in disrepair. Everything about this property screams outdated. At least the beds were comfortable. The hot tub was unusable, due to the lack of any lighting to or from the house. I guess it’s just for daytime? The pots and pans have been there since the 70’s. There was a steam shower that you couldn’t use and a propane stove you couldn’t use, guess they are afraid of burning the house down, a valid concern as the outside is old and crumbling, this home has a lovely property and the view but, the owners are not putting in a penny to make it what it could be. If you have a large group and want a property with a stunning view and, don’t care about anything else then, this is the place for you. It’s big! And close to Mackerricher state park and walking trail.

We had a wonderful time. Huge fenced yard for the dogs, lots of privacy, gorgeous ocean views, wonderful trails to explore, and a large house so we all could spread out! The kitchen was well equipped so that it was easy to prepare meals.
