Great Location - Horrible Bed

The owner replaced the previous bed (this is our 4th year staying for a week) with a hard mattress and pillows. Neither my husband or I slept well. This is a deal breaker for us. We hope that the previous bed is returned to this cottage or the current bed is replaced.

Cliff side house

The property had a spectacular view. It was down a long driveway, going in in the dark was difficult for the obvious reason. It could use reflectors to help people find it in the dark. It was a great stay.

nice place to stay

It was a good experience. The view is great and we had a fire in the fire pit when the sun went down. The house is small as is just a one bedroom but suited us OK. Just FYI you can not walk around the area it is all blocked off. You would have to drive anywhere you want to go. For us was OK. We enjoyed our stay.

Setting is unbeatable!

This was a perfect weekend getaway! The photo of the cove & ocean is what sold us on this place. It was so very quiet & peaceful with the ocean waves as our soundtrack. The deck was a perfect spot for coffee in the morning & wine in the evening. I didn’t read all the previous reviews so was surprised by the house next door, but it was unoccupied so it wasn’t a bother. The kitchen is minimal but we were prepared for this. The bed is a true double so it would not work for us for more than 2 nights. I feel that the lighting could be better, it was cloudy while we were there & rather dark in the house, especially the kitchen. Overall a sweet little spot!

Very private location on the ocean

The house is at the end of a private road, on a bluff directly above the ocean, a location with wonderful views. The neighbors are some distance away so good privacy. The house was very clean and totally outfitted from Ikea, from furniture to flatware. Nothing fancy but a consistent design and everything worked. Communication with the host was poor. There was no phone number on our check-in email and spotty VZN cell service meant we could not access the VRBO website. We were on our own to deal with the flaky electronic door lock. There was no house manual to tell us how things worked or provide the WiFi password. On our second day, we drove to town, accessed the website, and requested the password, which was provided a couple of hours later. We enjoyed our stay but it was clouded by the communication issues.

This location is stunning! We enjoyed the property very much. The bed is a little snug if you’re used to a king size, but we made it work. The views and location made up for any inconvenience. If you stay here, we highly recommend taking a slow walk up and down the driveway. There’s so much to see!

By far the best vrbo I have stayed in. The property is close to everything you will need but remote enough to feel disconnected from the busy world. The peace I desperately needed. I loved it here and plan to come back. Thank you!

Not what we expected for the price

The neighborhood was not what we thought it would be. The path to the house is in an alley behind a rundown little business district. Many of the houses in the alley have high gates with keep out on them and you have to wonder why. Then, you get the property and there is a huge house next to the bungalow. We did not know if people were in it or not. If they do rent this it is like sharing the parking level close. But the worst part was as soon as you walk into the house it absolutely reeks of mold/mildew. I have allergies and it was very difficult for me to breathe inside. We almost left it was so bad. If we hadn’t been awake 24hrs we would have. Then many small things point to this property not being well maintained. The toilet paper won’t stay on. The toilet seat was so worn and disgusting I almost didn’t want to touch it. I mean 20 bucks at the Home Depot and ten minutes with a screw driver fixes this. The sink stopper wouldn’t work. There were broken wires on the fence. The outlets weren’t grounded. There was a huge water stain on the ceiling which is probably why it smells like mold. I could not believe this was the most expensive place we booked on our trip to California. It was also the worst.

Awsome View

This is our second time staying here. The cottage is cozy and the right size to have someone over for a daytime visit. We built a fire in the pit and lounged on the outside couch overlooking the fabulous view!!

This property is all about the view… The Cottage itself is fairly simple… Has everything you need but the view is an 11 out of 10 for sure… We would definitely stay there again in a heartbeat.

“Uncomfortable as can be”

The view was absolutely beautiful! That’s it! The furniture was super uncomfortable, we couldn’t sit in the chairs and even the sofa was uncomfortable. They absolutely need new furniture. The mattress was too soft, we ended up sleeping in our sleeping bags on the floor in the front room. They were going for a mid-century modern vibe, but I think they should have gone for comfort.
