The COVID-19 outbreak may have changed the way we travel, but it hasn't halted our lust for exploring. Here are some tips on how to tackle the new challenges of travelling:

• Understand what rules and restrictions apply to both your origin and destination. It may not be possible to travel depending on local circumstances, so be sure to check before you lock in your flight.
• Requirements state you must wear a face mask throughout your travel experience, even at screening checkpoints. Be prepared to adjust your mask for identification purposes when asked by a TSA employee.
• Rather than handing a TSA employee your boarding pass, position it directly on the reader yourself. Then, hold it up for inspection.
• You can now take one container of hand sanitizer up to 12 oz (350 ml) in your carry-on bag. This will need to be removed for X-ray scanning.
• To minimize handling during screening, put items such as your phone, wallet and keys into your carry-on instead of the bins.
• If you want to take food through the screening checkpoint, put it in a clear plastic bag and then into a scanning bin. This lessens the likelihood that a TSA employee will need to handle your food container or carry-on bag for closer inspection.
