'Beautiful 7 BR 5 Bath Log Home with a game room, Hot Tub, and Starlink internet

This beautiful log home is located on five wooded acres with a great view of the Smokey Mountains. The 4,300 sq ft, three floor interior contains: 7 bedrooms, 5 baths, and a game room in the basement and Starlink internet. Magnificent mountain views can be savored from the spacious, wrap around, covered deck which also houses a hot tub. In addition, the deck and main level have wheelchair access. The cabin is not recommended for motorcycles if you are riding them to the cabin. If you trailer your bikes you can park them at the lower landing. The cabin is completely furnished and contains all the amenities necessary to improve your vacationing experience. All linens are professionally cleaned off site. Some of these amenities include TV’s in every room, barbecue grill, and fire pit among other things. The two master suites both contain custom king beds and 32” Flat screen TV’s. There are also two more king bedrooms on the main level along with two bedrooms with a full and twin beds in each room. One of the most unique features you’ll notice as you step into spacious interior is the custom handmade railing leading to the master suites. When you step down into the basement game room, you will find a 8’ pool table, air hockey table, Foosball, 51" TV, leather couch. All of these details have been taken care of to insure that you will have a great time at Archer’s Lair.

The nicest cabin I've ever rented!

Mountain retreat

It was a great place to go with family and catch up. The game room offered the kids and adults plenty of entertainment. The hot tub has a fantastic view and was a great place to relax.

Great Cabin

Our second trip

This was our second trip to this beautiful cabin. The owner has always contacted me quickly for any questions I've had. The cabin is always super clean when we arrive. This is the perfect place to get away for a few days with friends and family. Cannot wait until we can plan our next trip.

This house was perfect for our family of 11. Tons of space, beds were comfortable and the view from the hot tub was beautiful. The road up was a bit tricky in our 15 passenger van but we made it so probably anyone can.

3rd Annual Miller Trip to this place

It's Great grandparents all the way down to 18-month-old. we Love coming here. This is our third year here and we are so looking forward to making it again next year. We love spending time with our family together and getting away for our normal schedule. The owner is very easy to deal with and everything is as it appears. They have a very nice cabin and it's great for a large group.

Annual Miller Family trip

We had a great time with parents kids and adult grandkids . We had 12 of us all adults. We enjoyed a relaxed laid back vacation enjoy family. We even brought our cornhole boards and played on the nice porch with lots of room. We are already planning for next year. Everyone enjoyed the cabin and our stay.

Everything You Need

We had a good sized group of 16 and never felt cramped. There’s plenty of games and activities for the whole family and enough space to get away, if you want, especially on the massive back deck! During our stay we had a few personal issues with our vehicle and a few with the cabin, but Ted, Crystal, and William were extremely helpful and accommodating through it all. Thank you for letting our extended family make memories together in your lovely cabin!

Sylva Cabin

Beautiful cabin in a setting with scenic views, a hot tub and a huge fire pit. We ended up with 14 and had plenty of room both in the common spaces and beds. The dining room table is is single cut polished tree trunk and makes a fun dining atmosphere. The host was helpful and responsive when we had a minor alarm issue and sent help out right away. We will def do this again.

Couple's Retreat February 2017

Everything was GREAT! Everybody in attendance raved at how nice the cabin was, how close the drive from our hometown was in relation to years past when we'd driven more than 4 hours to a cabin retreat. The cabin came with EVERYTHING! If we didn't want to, we could have holed up in the cabin the entire time there (3 nights) and been just fine. Grill cooked wonderfully, hot tub purred like a kitten, kitchen essentials were more than enough. Game room area allowed for a guys/girls time area, if we needed to get away from each other for a few. Mr. Schropp was a delight to work with from the time of booking even after trip completion. We could not have asked for a better owner, a better cabin, or a better area than we enjoyed at Archar's Lair! Hopefully we'll get a chance to come back on our next couple's retreat.

Perfect Mountain Christmas!!

What an INCREDIBLE week I had with my family for Christmas!! There were 12 of us. (ages 14-81) The house was just perfect! It was so clean and the beds were amazing. The sheets were so soft we looked at the tag to see what brand they were so we could buy them when we got home! My 3 young adult sons loved the hot tub every night and the game room. The house was beautifully decorated for Christmas and that really impressed us! I have NO complaints. The bedrooms fit us perfectly - the bathrooms were so clean. We enjoyed the area and made a day trip to Dollywood and another day trip to Gatlinburg. We also checked out Cherokee and went sledding at Highlands Outpost in Scaley Mountain. It was the best VRBO I have ever stayed in and was the perfect Christmas cabin for us. I would stay here 10000 times over. It highly exceeded our expectations. I have one small request - the oven may need to be checked because it took a long time to heat to 375 (It may just need some maintenance) Thank you Ted for the beautiful home! You helped us have the most memorable Christmas ever!!

Beautiful and quiet

We enjoyed our stay! The cabin was nice and peaceful. I loved the rocking chair on the back porch and spent a lot of time just sitting out there in the quiet and enjoying the view! The cabin overall was lovely and it was nice to stay there. Game room for the kids was what sold us on this cabin over many others! We don't have many complaints but I will list them if you are curious about what they were... but in no way would I say the cabin was bad. Beautiful cabin, beautiful view, in a beautiful town! We enjoyed it overall very much! We did have a few struggles and I will list them here in case you are interested: The driveway up to the cabin was very steep. ( I feel like that should be mentioned in the description. My mother called it a goat trail 😂). It was nerve-racking the first day till we got the hang of it after a few trips, ...but I literally said a prayer every time and hoped we didn't meet another driver coming or going opposite direction because there was only room for one car and no where to pull off and let them through ...and it would have been a nightmare to go backwards ( up or down!) to let them through. We liked that there were Plenty of towels and beds. I was able to wash towels and still have enough towels that were clean. The dryer needs servicing,barely dried and took forever. I heard our cook complain about the oven was very dirty. Some of the linen had holes ( blankets, towels, and the bed sheet) but didn't make them unusable. Cabin is all wood and ec

Overall a nice place to stay, but could use some TLC.

The property and location are beautiful. Some of the amenities at the property could be improved and or repaired. The pool table, foosball table should be maintained. Bathrooms are dated, but functional. Toilet paper not enough supplied and single ply like sandpaper. Paper towels, not enough. Some lighting fixtures didn't work and some burned out old florescents bulbs and no replacement. Soap, shampoo not supplied and they should be included in dispensers in every bathroom. All the 5 bathroom and kitchen are functional but dated. Loose toilet in the upstairs bathroom. Garbage has to be taken to the dump in Franklin or there will be a charge if left behind. The American flag on the front entrance is ripped and faded. The AC/Heat system is not sufficient for this size house. There are 2 thermostat (basement and main) and you can only either run Heat or AC at the same time. If the basement is cold, but the main floor is hot you cannot run them separately. It's either heat throughout the house or AC. This size house needs at least 2 separate units. Overall, it's too much responsibility on the renter.

I take my whole family on vacations and this, by far was the best accomodations we have experienced. The place was clean, spacious, organized and fit our group(7 adults and four kids) perfectly. The view was out of this world and the covered porch was perfect for enjoying the view. The game room kept everyone busy in the evenings with pool tournaments and and the other games. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed for preparing meals.

Beautiful family trip

Celebrated my son's WCU graduation

We had a large group of friends and family to gather to celebrate my son's graduation from WCU. We had 15 people comfortably stay in this awesome cabin. The deck in the back is HUGE and was a wonderful place to gather and share stories in the evening.

GREAT house!!

Had the best Spring break vacation - not all family could come, but 9 of us did and we could stretch out and not be all on top of each other! The Game room in the basement and the Hot tub on the lower deck SAVED us! 3 girls ages 9-12 were very entertained!! Even had 1 bedroom we didn’t even use!!! We will be back!!!

Beautiful Mountain House

This large mountain cabin is hidden in the Cowee Valley. It has plenty of room and the views are incredible. The hot tub overlooking the valley is the highlight as well as the game room downstairs. We highly recommend staying here.

Great spot

Great location just a few minutes from town kids had a blast in the game room along with the jacuzzi place had plenty of room with comfortable beds we did struggle with the driveway in are AWD vehicles due to ice on the first night not owners fault cant control the weather but was taking care off pretty quickly no troubles the next couple of days still overall great stay and great communications with the owner who kept us up to date even before we arrived thanks again family enjoyed the trip wish we had more time

Excellent Mountain Getaway

The cabin is excellent! The road to get there is a little steep and twisty, but that’s true about most mountain cabins with a view. The back porch was perfect. If we had been there in the summer, that’s where we would have gathered. We came with our adult children and my mother. There was plenty of space to be together and also to be apart. The basement game room was a huge hit. The “kids” connected their switch to the tv for games. There was also many games of pool, foosball and Pac-Man/galaga/burgertime. The long table in the kitchen was great for meals and board games. We also used the hot tub and fire pit. The one time there was an issue, the owner had it fixed in a timely manner. We hiked, went to Biltmore for a day, and just enjoyed the company. Great place, as expected, would definitely return!

Great Family Gathering Place
