Guests looking for exceptional Hill Country cabin rentals will be delighted by the authentic La Rouge cabin constructed from reclaimed lumber right in the heart of the historic district, only two blocks from Main Street. While the cottage's exterior will invite you to step back in time, the posh interior will remind you that this little gem is all about luxury!
At La Rouge, you will enjoy a spacious den with a comfortable sofa, rock wood-burning fireplace (wood provided), and a 42" TV with cable selections, plus ROKU to enhance your TV entertainment experience. Adjacent to the den is the kitchenette, complete with microwave and mini-fridge and a cozy dinette.
Just off the den, through a set of beautiful French doors, you will find the bedroom offering a comfortable iron King-sized with luxurious Reilly-Chance bedding and a vaulted ceiling. Your oversized bathroom includes a romantic two-person shower. And don't forget to step onto your back porch and into your private hot tub
When you add up the luxurious amenities you will see that La Rouge is the perfect place for your romantic escape!

- Quiet Time is from 10:00 pm to 7:00 am, per City Ordinance
- If we are called due to complaints violating Quiet Time:
1st Offense will result in a $250 fine.
2nd Offense will result in a $500 fine.
If police are called, you are responsible for any fines or fees issued with the citation or warning. If police are called there will be a $500 fine, even if no citation is issued.

Great Location and Cozy!

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It was nice and cozy. I really liked the walk in shower, and hot tub! We also liked that is was super close to Main street for shopping and dining.

Relaxing

After being out to the museum each day for two days this was the perfect retreat. The private hot tub next to the bedroom was the perfect place to relax after a very active day. The location was very convenient and I enjoyed have lunch in the front yard.

Epic Couples Cottage

ADORABLE cottage just a few blocks from downtown Fredericksburg. The dogs loved the yard, the bed was super comfortable, and the jacuzzi was the perfect finishing touch. Perfect for a romantic getaway.

Cozy Cottage

Really great little house within walking distance of Main St. Comy bed and couches that was perfect for 2. The upgrades were very nice - great shower, neat copper sinks. They even lets us bring the dogs who loved the fenced in front yard. We sat out on. The patio under the huge trees and it was just lovely.

Perfect spot for a romantic getaway

La Rouge was the perfect little house for a romantic getaway for two. The house was so comfortable with everything we needed and hotel-style amenities--lots of towels, shampoo and soap, coffee, and snacks! The best part was definitely the private porch and hot tub. We were walking distance from Main Street and lots of shops and restaurants.

Quaint Getaway

The stand alone house is small but perfect for the two of us. We chose it because they allowed our dog but would gladly stay again even without him! The only snag was the wi fi login and password had changed and took several hours to get figured out. When we come back we will try and book La Rouge first!

Great Place To Stay

After reading some of the recent reviews I was concerned about what we might experience. Overall it was a great place to stay, walking distance to everything. Hot tub worked, house was clean, a/c worked, internet worked. No complaints!

Anniversary trip

We were happy with our stay at La Rouge. Nicely appointed and convenient location without being right on Main Street. You can still hear traffic noise in the morning but not terrible. Dogs next door were a bit yippy the first day as we were in the front moving in and then in the back for a hot tub time. Hot tub did drown them out however. Maintenance was very responsive as we had a chirping smoke alarm and it got fixed for the second night. Many thanks for that. Would stay again.

We loved our stay!

Loved the cabin feel. Cozy. Close to town & shopping. The front curtain by the door wouldn't close so we had to improvise. Couldn't read the temperature on the hot tub to turn up or down. Hot tub cover didn't fit properly.

Great spot!

The location is perfect! Walking distance from Main St. The place super cozy and comfortable. The only thing to note is that we did found one cockroach and one dog toy under the couch. No big deal for us really. Other than that, great stay!

Very nice

We enjoyed our stay and the place very cute and hot tub is wonderful. I would suggest getting a medium firmness bed because that bed is the softest of soft beds and we did not sleep well, my husband not me. We usually do a form mattress but medium is also ok for people who sleep on firm or softer mattresses. We'd love to stay again if you get a firmer mattress. Blessings

Nice Place

Everything was great, nice hot tub and shower. Our AC stopped and had to contact the manager. I did not hear back from the manager for awhile. Upon my second message, she got back to us, and came over and fixed the problem.

The hot tub had dirt in the bottom. We didn't even use it. The coffee pot leaked & had to turn it on several times to get a full cup. But the shower was great, the location was good, the bed was good. Katy January 2024

Anniversary Weekend

The house was small and just the size we needed. Check in was at 4 but it was closer to 4:15 by the time we got in. Landscapers were there and left a huge pile of leaves that blocked the entire front of the house. Had to park next door the entire weekend. Part if the reason for choosing this location was the fireplace option since its January and cold at night. There was no firewood available to use as stated in the post. Other than those 2 things the stay was great. Id recommended a few more towels be available but the location and comfort of the home was what i expected and would book again.

Disappointing, especially for the price point. Cabin hadn’t been cleaned prior to check in and there was no internet/cable for the entirety of our stay. The location was great and host was responsive, but overall the cabin felt very rundown and the listing just wasn't accurate (no internet or cable). Probably used to be a great vacation rental and just needs a lot of TLC.

Anniversary Getaway

My husband and I took a trip for our 10-year anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed La Rouge! It’s pretty close to one end of the main drag, although there aren’t particularly good walking conditions (no sidewalk, little bit of a hill, required to walk on the side of the road) until about block away from the house, so keep that in mind when you’re looking at walking distance/ease. The house itself was almost exactly what we were looking for and we LOVED that the bedroom was cool and dark, even after the sun came up. The refrigerator is definitely a small hotel room-sized mini-fridge, so that is also something to keep in mind. The hot tub worked beautifully and it was very private. Great stay and a marvelous time!

There are pros and cons. We liked: the walkability of this location to Ottos restaurant and a nice little corner ice house. This is a cute little place for 2. Loved the large shower and the privacy of the hot tub. We took our 2 little dogs and loved the fenced yard. The bed was comfortable. What we hated: it was marginally clean and the hot tub water was gross, and the hot tub panel did not work at all. The back porch was unswept. The rugs in the bathroom were just gross! I didn’t want to use them even with shoes on. The previous people left trash in the bedroom and a fridge full of old food. We always wear shower shoes, but I’d encourage you to bring them! There is an obnoxiously large pet fee per day per animal and when you arrive their is a sign saying no animals on the furniture. I feel like for the amount of money you just made off of me for them to be there, along with the cleaning fee then you can vacuum the couch! It was quite filthy anyway, maybe clean it once in awhile? The most inexcusable thing to me was the level of weeds and tree debris in the yard. I know we just had a terrible hot drought summer, but weeds and debris along with an inoperable dirty hot tub are just inexcusable. If you don’t want to keep it up, hire someone to do it for you. 4/10
