Cabins on Knopp School-Chula Vista Cabin - Private Hot tub - Romantic Getaway

The Chula Vista Cabin is a perfect country getaway experience that is located just 6 miles from downtown Fredericksburg. This cabin was built using antique oak logs from an 1800’s log cabin and yet has all the modern amenities and conveniences including a mid-sized kitchenette. There is also a Weber gas grill to compliment the kitchenette. Electric skillet has been placed in the unit.

Enjoy your glass of wine or morning coffee on the porch rockers; sit in front of a beautiful limestone fireplace; take a long soak in a claw-foot tub or relax in your private hot tub.

Take a stroll around the property where wildlife and song birds abound. Tranquil and breath-taking hill country views, beautiful sunsets, and amazing star-gazing await you. The owner has purchased 2 new golf carts for guests to use to drive around the property. (No one under the age of 18 are allowed to drive the carts!) Please return the carts back to the garage after you use them.

Please note that Chula Vista is perfect for couples. The homeowners request no pets and no children.

Cozy Anniversary Trip Retreat

The cabin was a needed relaxing retreat after walking around town and visiting the vineyard. The privacy we had was exactly what we were hoping for. Soaking in the hot tub every night was the perfect way to end the evening.

Great Cabin and Property

This is our second trip to Chula Vista. The Cabin is very nice and perfect for a couple. Property is very pretty, cattle and deer to watch. Having the golf cart was fun to tour the property. Highly recommended

Great Getaway!

Staying in a log cabin was a unique treat, especially since Chula Vista is a very comfortable and well-appointed cabin. We sat up late in the living room, lingered over coffee in the morning, and enjoyed watching the deer watching us. The office to check in was easy to find on the main street through town, and folks were friendly and helpful. Was it perfect? Nearly. A few more lights on the path would have given my wife some comfort when we came in after dark on Friday. And on a chilly, gray weekend it sure would have been nice to have the fireplace working, if just for ambiance (the furnace worked fine!). But we will certainly be looking at Chula Vista first when we come back to the Fredericksburg area.

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed at this exact cabin about 15 years ago and it was a lovely property then. However, during our recent stay the property looked very run down and not well maintained. The pool they advertise is mostly empty with disgusting slug at the bottom. We did not have access to the golf cart they spoke about and we had issues with the lights. I can safely say with all the other options now in this area, we will not be returning to this property.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Walk way lights not working very dark walk from parking to cabin have to use flashlight on phone . Fire place stoped working on last day so the whole cabin mood was gone . Hot tub was set to 85 when we got there no big deal I set it at 104 and warmed up fast but I believe that the thermostat is incorrect when we got in it was marking 105 and the water was boiling hot. I believe it was hotter than 105. I have used many hot tubs set at 104 and never felt the water that hot. Also, the water needed to be changed. It was foaming when the bubbles were turned on which is an indication that the water is not exactly clean.

A lovely stay

This is a peaceful stay that is a perfect distance from town. The orientation of the bedroom sets you up for a stunning view to wake up to. Highly recommend!

Great Cabin

My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary. It’s a great cabin with friendly owners who were available for any questions or concerns.....which we had neither. I’d recommend this rental for anyone looking for a couple day getaway in Fredericksburg

Wonderful trip!

We had a great time in Fredericksburg! The cabin was so cute and cozy., it was hard to leave it and go sight see. We loved the fireplace and sharing our outdoor space with all the deer. We even spotted a fox in the distance! It was a relaxing few days. Our hosts were so thoughtful and helpful - can’t wait to visit again!

Great country cottage

My husband and I stayed in the Chula Vista cabin the weekend of December 2nd - 5th. It was absolutely perfect! We loved that it was about 15 minutes out of town and secluded. We got to watch the wildlife in the mornings and enjoyed the hot tub in the evenings. The cabin was cozy with a gas fireplace and wonderful rustic accents. The owner even had Christmas decorations in the cabin. We would definitely stay here again.
