The house was extremely clean. Fully stocked. An amazing experience. The views from the deck were amazing. The drive to the top of the mountain was surely worth the view of the Shenandoah Valley.
View was amazing, house had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. Hosts were very responsive and helpful. The community pool is very nice as well!
Nice place to stay, great view and secluded. Would come again but would not recommend coming up the mountain for your first time late at night with fog! Lol 4wd highly recommended!
My husband and I took the weekend to get away and this was the perfect place. It is a trek up the mountain and worth it. Very clean and the hosts were friendly and approachable. Definitely recommend. Just be aware that the drive up is gravel road and at times steep. Best have AWD or 4 WD.
Being so high up, the cabin's deck offered unparalleled mountain views. The sunrise, sunset, dusk, dawn, night sky seeded with stars kept us entertained with ever changing colors and visitors (e.g.: deer, woodpeckers, titmouse, etc.) The cabin is well equipped with cooking utensils and offers plenty of storage as well. Its proximity to Shenandoah NP is a huge plus. Our hosts were very quick to respond to messages and easing any concerns we had. We cannot wait to be back.
Property and hosts are superb!! We had a great time with a beautiful view. The sunrises were awesome. The drive in a little tricky but once in well worth it and after a time or two not bad at all. House was quiet and secluded. Very nice for time with my wife. We were 1/2 hour from the park, were treated very well and would highly recommend this property to anyone!! It was wonderful !!
My husband and I truly enjoyed our weekend stay at the Guesthause. Tessy and her husband are great hosts. Their property is the perfect getaway from everyday life and we can’t wait to be back. You won’t regret booking your stay here. The view and peace you feel from being immersed in nature is refreshing. You’ll never want to leave.
My wife and myself both enjoy nature, and this place did not disappoint. Honestly picking the place strictly on the view alone did not disappoint. We looked forward to waking up early for the sun rise and coffee, enjoyed the winding ride up and down the mountain, and counted the minutes until sunset just to watch every evening.
I spent a week on a self-meditation retreat. The location and the facilities were beautiful. The view is amazing - the pictures are accurate. Tessy and Steve were great hosts - very helpful. I got to walk part of the Appalachian Trail nearby - saw a bear cross the path. There are wineries nearby, though I did not go to any. Great place for a getaway.
The location is PRIME!! Loved the view of the valley below and the mountain ranges around it. Now I know why its called the Blue Ridge Mountains. Every sunrise was different and was able to view a Strawberry moon! Was also privileged to view a wedding at the winery down the mountain from the property!! Again, I loved it!
The property was nice Great views from a lovely deck if it is not foggy. The drive up and down the mountain is hair raising and i would not recommend doind it at night
Steve and Tess were wonderful hosts. Very responsive and helpful. The directions to the property were very helpful and we were able to make it up in our Toyota Corolla, though you may feel more comfortable in a SUV at some parts in the road. The views were lovely, the place clean and inviting and peaceful. Steve took us to a place where we can access the AT and came a pick up of us again we were finished. Definitely would visit again.
This is the most beautiful cabin you could ever wish for! It is secluded, quiet, and the view from the top is even better than the national park! The drive up the mountain is a little intimidating if you’re not used to driving up mountains like us. It is about 20 minutes up and the closest option for food is about 20 minutes away. That being said you should pack meals to eat in a cooler, we only packed sandwiches and a few snacks but wish we had packed any food we might of wanted. The owners are very nice and accommodating, we really enjoyed waking up to the sunrise over the mountains and plan to go back for another trip!
It’s hard to imagine a more serene setting than this. If you’re looking for an escape into nature while having the accessibility to a great home to return to, go ahead and book it. Tessy was an amazing host and went above and beyond to answer any questions or concerns I had. The Guesthouse is in close proximity to the main house, but the hosts give you the privacy to enjoy your stay, although I’m sure it would’ve been a pleasure to meet Tessy and Steve. This place is 5/5 for a reason.

Hiking in the Shenandoah Mountains
Clean, well-appointed, charming guest house. Our hosts were helpful and responsive.
And the views are breathtaking! The road to the guest house is breathtaking for a very different reason! It’s long, rough, and in a couple places combines a very sharp turn with a very steep incline. I navigated it successfully 4 times in my Jeep Wrangler, but it was a little intimidating. The stunning views and lovely guest house are the payoff for such a long climb, but just be prepared to do a little work to get there.
Perfect spot with gorgeous views. Kitchen is more like “kitchenette”- a hot plate, sink, and microwave. Very clean. Access to the park from the property though we didn’t take that option with the limited time we had, it would be fun to try. Otherwise if you want into the park or skyline drive you will be driving for about 45 minutes despite being geographically close. Can’t emphasize enough how gorgeous the view is and how amazing it is to wake up to that.
The Guest house was really nice. Had everything you would need to stay and good attention to detail. The view is the main selling point. Easy to hang out at, which is good because....
The drive up the mountain is no joke. A solid 5 miles of narrow dirt roads curving back and forth and up some pretty steep slopes. Plan on 20-25 minutes both up and down from the base of the mountain. You'll likely only be doing it once a day.
This was the only downside to staying at this location.
