"LOVED the sly Berlin. Cool, earthy, sexy vibe and design aesthetic for this boutique hotel. Excellent comfy and clean room for two. Great, high-quality, delicious smelling toiletries products in bathroom. Fabulous restaurant and grounds. And the sauna and spa were aces, wish I could bottle the smell up there! Plus views from the spa lounge of the TV tower were amazing. Would go back to sly Berlin in a heartbeat. Also a good location; really close to tram and food market."

Historic hotels give guests a chance to stay in a building that has been officially recognised with a national historic designation. Historic hotels throughout the world have had many former lives and uses, such as castles, palaces or even pubs or old police stations — any building that's been identified as being of special interest. These types of hotels in Friedrichshain typically preserve original qualities such as period features or traditional architecture in their public spaces or guestrooms.

The two are similar. The term "historic hotel" is more common in the U.S., whereas "heritage hotel" is common in Asia and Europe.
