Really great hostel! The common areas and bathrooms were very clean, the room was really spacious and the mattresses were comfortable. We got a great view of mt fuji as well.
Only complaint would be the heavy smell of cigarette smoke, likely from the previous occupants
It was a very nice guest house. He even gave me a peach(very expensive this time of year) and tool care of the rain suit i bought on Mt. Fuji since i didn't need it anymore. Great service and fairly good location, just a short 5-10 min walk from the lake
Breakfast was amazing. The staff was extremely helpful and welcoming.
We enjoyed the game room, playing pool and throwing darts.
Beautifully located by the lake, our room had a wonderful view of Lake Kawaguchi from our spacious traditional Japanese room.
The hotel has a morning shuttle to the train station, however the hotel was an easy 15 min walk from the station, Fuji Ropeway, and grocery store.
Coin Laundry was available in the hotel and they provided detergent.
This was a cosy, comfy stay for 1 night. Although the owner couldn't speak English, and I can't speak proficient Japanese, the communication worked with the help of translation apps. Although it was snowing outside, the heating in the room warmed us up quickly. Note to say that the walls are quite thin, as you'd expect in a traditionally built Japanese building, so you can for sure hear other guests snoring. Didn't bother me at all though. Was a nice stay.
GPS took us passed it. We had to go across the street to the grocery store to verify the location. It said Taiwan Cafe on it and next to it something in Japanese. Info was sent via email in Japanese. Thankfully we were able to get a signal to use Google translate. I knew the “beds” would be on the floor but I didn’t know the rooms would be upstairs. No chairs. Nothing to place items on. The mats were REALLY hard. We walked from the bus station. Do NOT do that! Extremely small walking area. No mirrors in the room or bathroom. It didn’t feel close to much of anything. Thankful for the grocery store across the way. You could hear every movement anyone made. Definitely could not stay here again and totally not for anyone with mobility issues.
Really nice property we had a traditional style room, host was very helpful and polite, could see Mount Fuji from corridor to our room. Accommodation exterior better than photos show would recommend
Blankets are super thick, had to set the AC to 16°C to be able to use them.
While the listing says shared washroom and in room sink that is in fact a lie.
Staff also entered my room around 5pm without knocking to remove the extra beds since I’d only booked for one person. Removing the beds is fine but knocking would have been nice.
The rooms cannot be separately locked from the inside.
Other than all that it was fine, but one star given the lie about the sink.
It's close to the pagoda and there's a grocery store just across the street.
The floors really creaked so felt bad making noise leaving early in the morning. Make sure you check your email because that's where you get the information for check in. There was no one at the property to help with that when we arrived. They offered free parking but since no one is there when you arrive it's unclear where you're to park.
Overall good stay, very clean, nice facilities and inexpensive. Google maps has the building next door as the place and as an English only speaker it was a little tricky since the retro facility says restaurant in English and BnB in Japanese.
