Anchors Aweigh is a cute, shotgun-style apartment in a 110+ year Victorian home accommodates up to 2 people and a furry friend (up to 25 pounds) with WiFi throughout! Once up a few stairs to the raised first floor of the home, you have access to the apartment through a private door. Step directly into the bright living room with flat screen T.V., board games, a couch with two love seats. Both the living room and bedroom are separated by a hallway that the gorgeous bathroom is located on, giving each room their own privacy. The bedroom has a desk perfect for working on your laptop! The kitchen with gas stove and full sized refrigerator is located in the back of the apartment with a private porch attached, perfect for a morning cup of coffee. Just down the porch is the bright brick shared courtyard and outdoor gourmet Viking grill. You have access to the outdoor shower and free laundry room in the garage also!

Perfect house for the bay and the beach!

We stayed for 4 nights, the location was perfect! Bring your bikes if you can. The owner was very responsive, and the property is super clean and cute. Bonus: It's dog friendly! In fact, the entire area is dog friendly which was an added treat. I would definitely book here again.

A long weekend

Found this place to be very convenient to the Strand. I didn't have a vehicle;didn't need one. Is was clean and comfortable. And pretty quiet. I will stay again when in Galveston.

The house was exactly as described. Communication was quick. The location of the house was great as we wanted to be close to the Strand. It was a nice walk there and a quick drive back. The house was clean and cozy. A definite must stay!

Great location close to the historic district and even closer to a couple of great neighbourhood eateries. Beautifully clean and although it is a one bedroom place, all the rooms have plenty of space so just perfect for a couple. Definitely recommend it

Great location for walking

Location was perfect for walking down to The Strand & Post Office shopping areas, the waterfront pier, and all around the streets filled with beautiful historic homes. The flat is clean with a big comfy couch for reading or watching tv, and a big comfortable bed. It was warm & chilly the days I stayed & it was equipped with all I needed to stay cozy. It’s decorated very nice & you know you’re in a beach town. Very much enjoyed staying in this older unique home with so much character.

Perfect Getaway

Awesome property. Excellent for couples. Within 5 minutes of everything, the beach, restaurants and ferry. Couldn't ask for a better jumping off location to take in all that Galveston Island has to offer. All the amenities that the higher priced places have at a very good price. Karlsen is awesome. Anything you need or any problems that may come up, he's right there. We will definitely stay at one of his properties on our next visit.

Weekend Getaway

This property was so cute and inviting. Owner responded to my questions right away. This home has everything you need. Loved the outdoor shower and back patio was great as we are smokers. Neighborhood super quiet at night. We will be return customers for sure. Location is perfect. Some reviews said within walking distance from everything, if you're super athletic walking is fine but we drove closer to the Strand and parked and walked all the shops from there. This place is perfect for a couple. Highly recommend.

Enjoyed the closeness of the property to the harbor and the Strand. Just a hop skip and a jump from any beach you wanted to visit! Loved the historic East End!
