"I was extremely disappointed at check-in. The only request I had made was a ground floor room which was provided. However, I had expected breakfast and was told it was a self-catering accommodation. I asked about breakfast and was led to believe that was doubtful and being able to invite a guest not allowed! "The accommodation generally was good. We were received. We requested two single beds when booking and was given a king. This was changed to two singles while we waited. Other guests were extremely loud and messy outside. The mess wasn't cleaned. Breakfast was 7 am to 9 am. No one was around at 7 for the breakfast nor was anyone there to hand our keys to so we just left. accommodation was decent but service was poor. the person who received us appeared to be hanging with the noisey guests."

Some positive critique to work on (room 24): - We were in a street facing room, so there was noice from the street. - Cold water tap needs to be attended to … seems like no water and then all of a sudden a gush of it. - mattrasses can be opgraded/replaced, is very thin. Great place to stay in Wildernis

"This is one of our favorite half-way stops on our way down to Cape Town. Wildernis is a quant little town with world-class restaurants and The Wildernis Hotel is such a great place to stay. Lovely pool, padel, tennis and mini-golf facilities. Excellent breakfasts! And very, very friendly staff."

South African Hospitality at its Finest

"From the moment we drove into the property of this beautiful B&B, we felt welcomed like family. Rina goes out of her way to make sure that the tiniest detail of her guests requests are attended to. We visited with our 93 year old mother, and the little, unspoken thoughtful gestures to make everything uncomplicated for her, spoke volumes of the caring kind of person that Rina is. The rooms are spotlessly clean, the welcome package included rusks and chocolates, complementary assortment of coffee and teas and bottled water. The breakfasts are an assorted treat of generous homemade wholesome goodness-each day with a different choice of hot and cold items. I cannot say enough about how well we were fed and individually attended to. The pool was lovely, and we enjoyed the polite dogs, friendly horses and occasional rabbits on the property. She has a number of little quotes around the building which is testament to her approach towards her guests: primarily that we arrive as friends, and leave like family. This is true Afrikaans South African hospitality at its finest. Thank you Rina- you’re amazing! "
