"Excellent cabin stay and great surrounding property. This place is half a mile from the West Glacier entrance to the park.
Great beds, good towels and all the kitchen amenities to make meals- the fridge was cold.
They bring towels & take out the trash daily.
We stopped in Missoula at Costco and just bought premade dinners and some meats to bbq. Each cabin has a grill.
They have a huge grass area with volleyball and corn hole and some ponds to wander around and look at turtles."
"Good clean room. Everyone was very nice. Be aware there is no A/C, but it was cool enough with windows open and a fan on. A little uncomfortable leaving windows open when the parking lot was right out the window.
Not really enough parking, we had to park down the hill from the room.
But it was a cool older style facility."
"Every thing was great except the tv did not work. No signal. They tried to fix but could not. Offered a discount on my 5 night stay but I did not get it."
"What a treat to stay where you take a few steps from the hotel to the lake and view the mountains and scenery--no need to drive, although there are beautiful sights within driving distance and wonderful hiking trails that allow you to get even closer to the beautiful scenery.
We stayed in a double bed room on the basement/lake floor. Special treat to have a second door with screen door that opened to the lake side of the hotel. This part of the hotel has an elevator for which we were grateful, especially after viewing all the stairs both inside and out. The room was comfortable with fan and even a small desk.
We took the hotel tour offered each afternoon. Our tour guide was interesting and shared much of the history of how the hotel was built, remodeled and remodeled again--had a notebook of pictures that helped understanding of the changes over the years.
We ate in the Ptagmigan Dining Room for breakfast--the breakfast continental breakfast met our needs. Lunch and dinner were enjoyed in the Swiss Lounge. There is also a small store on the lake level of the hotel which sells snacks, drinks and other food options. Staff in all hotel locations were friendly and helpful.
Excellent choice IF you can get a reservation!"
"We love to visit NP lodges and Lake McDonald lodge did not disappoint. The staff from check-in to check-out were friendly, very helpful and always listening for ways to make our stay more comfortable and enjoyable. We ate onsite at the Fireside Dining Room and Lucke's Lounge--food cooked to our request, service consistent, and prices reasonable considering location. The lobby is inviting with the beautiful lantern lights, the fireplace with etched stone and a variety of comfortable seating. And most important, the views inside the lodge and outside are outstanding.
Our accommodation was a small cabin and we enjoyed looking out our door and seeing a path to the lake.
We took the Western Alpine Red Bus tour which is a great way to see the western side of Going To The Sun Road without driving. Jammer Bill provided humor and fun as he shared the history of the road."
"Highly recommend Glacier Guides Lodge for your stay in West Glacier. We’ve visited 21 national parks so far and have stayed at a variety of accommodations near the parks and I will say this is definitely going to be a favorite. It’s close enough to the park that you can easily get to the entrance, but also far enough away that it still felt peaceful and super quiet. The rooms were very clean and extremely comfortable. There is a complimentary continental breakfast and we loved the sitting area outside our room. On one night we grabbed a pizza and bottle of wine in town and enjoyed sitting outside in the cool mountain air to relax after a day of hiking. Overall a 5/5 stay!"
"High level of comfort with many amenities Club Ted was perfect for our group of four active, independent seniors who enjoy having our own space, and also enjoy gathering together for food and fellowship. Since the open floor plan for the common area is U-shaped rather than simply a big box, we could easily identify our individual favorite spots. The kitchen area was large enough for group meal preparation. The kitchen amenities were exceptional, as were the recreational amenities. We felt well cared for. When we did have a question or request, Diana was quick to respond. As expected from the description, the location is ideal – convenient to the Park yet away from traffic, river view on one side and golf course on the other with mountains all around. Highly recommend."
