"The staff were so lovely and accommodating! Our room was luxurious and we had a lovely view of the river. They even put a happy birthday dessert plate in the room for my husband- very kind! I do want to say that the leisure/pool center was quite a disappointment. It is very outdated and so dirty that I didn't even end up putting my suit on to use the facilities. The whole center could really use some updating and TLC. My family lives locally and used to have a membership to the facility but had to cancel it due to the run down conditions. All this aside though- the hotel, the staff, the restaurant and the bar are excellent! Just don't bring your swimsuit :)"

"As a single American woman traveling to Ireland for the first time, I found Ali and Ger extremely helpful. Ger picked me up and dropped me off at the bus stop in Portroe. They also picked up necessities like eggs and milk. I even had a 15-minute run into the grocery store. On the way to the stables gear pointed out the walking trails into town. I got a brief lesson on turning on the hot water and operating the electric window shades. The place was quite divine for walking, watching the cows and reading a book. My only negative observation was how slowly the toilet refilled. Ger was aware of the water pressure, but at first it made me nervous. I plan to visit again. The Stable is a positive place to relax."
