Great location in the arts and crafts community, just a few minutes’ drive to downtown Gatlinburg. Quiet area, near other cabins but felt private from the balcony with trees separating. Plenty of grass along the road to walk the dog in the area.
The cabin property managing company was a little tough to communicate with when the smoke detector kept beeping. The dryer also does not have heat to dry the clothes. Other than that, great location and cabin for our budget.
We had a great time! The cabin was clean and check in process was easy. A reminder for those looking at this property…the main level BR bathroom ONLY has a bathtub - no shower. Not a big deal and we made it work. :). A couple of suggestions for property owner: (1) There is no street # on the street so it was difficult knowing that we were at the right cabin when we first arrived; (2) The steps leading up to the porch are very dark so there needs to be a light or some type of solar lights. Overall, we would stay here again and had a great time. Thank you!

Disappointed
Got an email a couple days before our arrival date saying the hot tub did not work and would not be fixed during our stay. The hot tub is one of the important amenities that our group wanted. We asked for a refund so we could get a cabin where the hot tub worked but were declined because it’s an “amenity “. The cabins location is convenient that is perhaps the best thing about it. During our stay we also noticed fireplace did not work yet another important amenity. We called the office they told us someone would be out to fix it but that never happened during our stay. Ok as far as cleanliness the cabin could use a really good deep cleaning. Black mold in corners of showers cob webs in windows and the ceiling fan above the table was nasty. We will not stay at this cabin again.
The cabin is very clean. It was one of the cleanest cabin we've been in (we have stayed in probably 10 cabins now). The reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because the hot tub was broke. My disappointment would've wanted me to give it an even lower rating; but I realize that it's not a deal breaker for others. My family over the years have really enjoyed our cabin vacations. We specially loved sitting in an outside hot tub close to nature in the mornings and at nights after a long day hiking. After our check in the first day, we noticed the hot tub was half empty. We looked around for a hose to fill and there was none to be found. Disappointed, we went to bed. We went hiking the next day and had a great time but missed our usual routine of evening soaking in the tub time. Next day I called the management company to come fill the tub. We went hiking again. Went back to the cabin and found the water level in the tub was higher than before...but still kind of low. What made it worse was that it was not heated. We couldn't get in the tub even if there was enough water in the tub. So we adjusted the tub temperature hoping that it would get warm enough in the morning. Next morning, first thing we checked, and guess what? The water level had dropped to the level well below the jets. My guess is that there must be a leak. When I searched for our cabin, I set the criteria of having a hot tub. I willingly pay more for a cabin with a hot tub. It's a family tradition for us.
DO NOT RENT. NEEDS MAJOR UPDATING *have pictures and videos*
This property looks really nice from the listing but needs major updating. Nearly none of the amenities that caught my eye worked. This property is managed by a rental company and it was the worst lack of communication I have ever experienced while renting on VRBO. I messaged Bear Camp Cabin Rentals via email 3 separate times before we had arrived and never recieved a response. Upon arrival we noticed the bottom level deck was covered in ice and there were large icicles coming down from tbe deck above. When we checked out the hot tub, which was directly above the porch below, we discovered that there was an apparent leak that we were told was supposed to be fixed the day before we arrived and someone would be out there to fill it back up. They never showed up until 8 o'clock at night unannounced and the water had leaked all back out by the next morning. The hot tub was never fixed while we were there and I called 2 other times about it. The jacuzzi tub jets also do not work. The pool table is so wobbly that a hard push would put it in a pile. There were no tips on any of the pool sticks and one was broke. The downstairs shower doesnt shut completely and soaks the floor in front of the sink when you take a shower. 2 out of the 4 ceiling fans didnt work. The front right burner on the stove doesnt work. Cob webs in the corners of the windows and the fan was covered in dust. The gas logs also do not work. Completely unprofessional rental group. Would've booked something else
