Bed bugs. Had to leave at 3 o’clock in the morning on the very first night we were there. Ruined my 13-year-old’s birthday. The owner did issue a full refund, but the problem is that they knew this was a problem because the guest book in the cabin has many reviews mentioning bedbugs. The cabin is very deceiving because at first glance, it is spotless and clean. I even mentioned that it was the cleanest Vrbo I had ever stayed in. Then my daughter woke me up at 3 AM to tell me that her and her friend had been bitten by bedbugs. After inspecting the room and finding the bugs and comparing to them to what they look like online, I did 100% confirm they were bedbugs. The owner should get rid of the mattresses and couches in the unit completely. I hope they do a better job with this so this doesn’t happen to the next guest.

My stay was during, April 9th - 12, 2026, At first glance the cabin was beautiful and looked exactly like it was listed. However, on the first night of the 9th we found bed bugs in the second bedroom with the bunk beds. I immediately messaged the host with pictures. The next morning, Saturday April 10th, I did get a message from the host asking for pictures after I had already sent them. The cabin is part of the White Oak Resort and there is a main office however no one was there! I did end up calling the host which the property manager for the cabin was CasaGo Smokey Mountains. Upon calling CasaGo with what my concern was which again was the bed bugs and getting into a new cabin and getting a refund. I spend most of my second day on vacation messaging the host and calling the phone number for CasaGo to find out the host was going to do about the bed bugs. CasaGo stated they were sending pest control to do an assessment of the cabin but didn’t give a time, Pest Control did come until 3:30 -4:00 pm. So I basically spent my entire Saturday chasing after the host. Shortly after pest control came to the cabin, they confirmed what I had already knew and told them that there was bed bugs in the second bedroom with the bunk beds. They didn’t offer to move me to another cabin, because they did t have any available cabins, they did offer a refund, or suggested I cancel my stay early! If you your going to get a cabin at this resort please check for bed bugs!
