"Safari Inn still has some of its original 1950s charm, notably the iconic neon sign, modest swimming pool, and quirkily laid out parking lot with palm trees. It's on a busy, noisy street, and sitting on the deck atop the porte-cochère puts the traveler rather on display. While the lobby reeks of chemicals and the on-site parking costs $25 per day, the basic room itself was tidy and clean. The boxy in-wall air-conditioning unit runs loud. The bathroom was stingy with bath towels, a few of which were fraying, and lacked souvenir mini shampoos and lotions—a card informs one must purchase those in the unpleasant lobby. Some of the stucco on the pool wall was flaking off, exposing black beneath. The place could use TLC but one assumes that would cost more than the management has deemed profitable."

" I loved staying here! The hotel has a calm and relaxing environment, not crowded at all and very quiet—something rare in Los Angeles. The rooms were comfortable, and the overall vibe made my trip even better. I’d definitely come back."

"The bathroom was nice and clean and probably the best part of the hotel room. The bartender in the evening and the front desk lady in the evening were very friendly. My carpet in my room was not vacuumed and dirty. Also, I was told that there would be coffee at 7 AM, which is kind of late for folks traveling on business, however, when I went down at 7 AM, I was told that coffee was not available because the manager was not there yet and it was just a cook. I had to walk to the McDonald’s about 2 1/2 blocks down the road. Also, while I was there during my stay, I must’ve received a dozen text messages, asking me about how my stay was, and that they were there to help with anything, with some text messages coming in after 9 PM. Will not stay here again, especially when traveling for business."

"Amazing location. It was close to food and nightlife within walking distance. The bed was so soft. Like sleeping on a cloud. Realized there is a $10 fee to park a vehicle in addition to the room. All and all a great stay."
