Friendly welcome from reception at check in. Spotless room but no heating on à very cold day. Given à portable heater until central heating kicked in. Good food in restaurant . Very friendly barman in evening and waiting staff at breakfast were extremely efficient and welcoming. Would definitely visit again.

We had a nice stay overall. The spa was great and very relaxing. Dinner was good and breakfast was OK. However, the bed wasn’t very comfortable, and the walls are quite thin — we could hear noise from other rooms. Nice staff and atmosphere, but sleep quality could be improved.

Lovely stay

Lovely overnight stay, little noisy at night as a wedding was on but that can’t be helped. Pool was lovely and clean and nice warm water! Nice tasty breakfast too, great value for money

Great location for a wee getaway!

Beautiful comfortable room with an extra bed for our daughter. Lovely friendly staff on reception and in the bar and restaurant. Great quality evening meal and breakfast. Great setting. Would love to come back. Added bonus of a pool to enjoy with steam room!

Location was lovely, the house is historic and a lovely garden that we looked out over from our room. Breakfast and dinner were very good and dining service good too. Just a note to others no room service unless you hang out the door card which they don’t tell you about so we went without any room service for our whole 3 night stay. Our bathroom cold tap wasn’t working but shower was good. Loud noises occurred from 2-5am each night, never got to the bottom of cause, sounded like furniture being moved or loud heating-water pipes? But when this wasn’t gong on it was peaceful. Overall it was a great location with some shops nearby for supplies and would stay again.

Lovely hotel

We spent a lovely night. The hotel was comfortable and the atmosphere was calm and peaceful. The stairs were easy to manage. The staff were nice, but I would say that in the dining room, they were short-handed. The food was delicious and the half portion, was just perfect for me. I would definitely go back again.
