"We were put in room 112, a handicapped room. The bedframes were broken and didn't fit the mattresses, the mattresses were so worn out there were deep sagging pits that were hard to get out of. My friend slept sideways on her bed and I ended up on the couch. At 4am I went to the desk and told them that room should never have been filled, it's uninhabitable, especially for a handicapped room. Literally the worst beds I have seen as a world traveler. At 3:30am it sounded like something was getting thrown around the room and it woke me up, I couldn't see anything, but it sounded like our luggage being slammed against the floor repeatedly. After Googling it, I found out it's part of the original Salem, and it's a frequent occurance to hear loud noises in the rooms, and it's reported to be haunted, so there's that. They ended up storing our luggage and changing us to a different room for the 2nd night."

"We arrived at 2 and were told we could not check in until 4 unless we paid $50. We went back at 5pm and the room still was not ready. It’s the middle of May. The hotel was NOT very busy. Waited another 1/2 hour for the room.Staff was not too helpful but they did not charge us the extra fees. And then our room was never cleaned. We are repeat customers. Not sure we will return"
