"The hotel has a modern/hip vibe, starting with the lobby which is centered around the bar that also serves as the check-in desk. This is where breakfast is served. The room was modern, well maintained and functional, but a little tight on space for 2-people with large suitcases. There is no closet or draws (a few coat-hooks) and so plan to live out of your suitcases. It is well located a short distance from the Shambles, Minster and other attractions. It is also close to many shops, pubs, a restaurants. Overall, it was a good choice.
One thing that we didn't like was that the rooms don't have safes and the hotel safe is a room safe located behind the bar. We had passports and valuables in zip-lock bags, to which thay added a sticky-note with our room number on and didn't provide us with a receipt."
"Arrived at the hotel where there was plenty of on-site parking - a rare find in Leeds, and reasonably priced at £24 for the two nights.
Greeted by receptionist who was warm and welcoming. No fuss check-in and the upgrade we were offered pre-check in was all confirmed.
The room, as with everywhere else in the hotel was immaculately clean. If you can book, or get an upgrade to the superking rooms, do it. We did it via upgrade which also gained us 15% off food and drinks throughout our stay and a 13:00 checkout time. We also had breakfast included. The room was so spacious, the bed so comfy. The towels are so soft and fluffy, too!
The only downside at this hotel is, there is no air conditioning. Most of the time this won’t be a problem in the UK. It at temperatures in the high 20’s, the room did get warm.
Breakfast was great - the guy who treated us at the restaurant desk on both mornings was a real gem! We didn’t get his name. It’s a real chilled affair, plentiful in choice for a buffet and you can request your eggs any way you like. This is a good value for money for breakfast - whilst it may not be “the best” you’ve ever had, it is good and there’s plant of choice.
We will stay here again, if for nothing else, how clean and comfortable the room is and the friendliness of the staff overall."
"My single bed room was small but everything worked okay. TV, Hot water kettle, AC, mini fridge. My room was on the back side of the hotel so it was quiet. No street noise or train noise. Very quiet. Coffee, sugar cream and towels were restocked daily. Check in and out was easy. Nice large lobby with plenty of chairs and couches. Hotel is next to the Leeds Train Station. Very convenient."
"Nice central location, rooms clean and very quiet. However the rooms lack space for clothing only a small rail rack, the bed was extremely hard and was not very comfortable. Nice big TV and a fridge in the room and shampoo, conditioner, body wash and body lotion in the bathroom. We did struggle connecting to the hotel wifi.
Breakfast was good, nice selection to set you up for the day. Overall a great place to stay for a short stay in York.
Parking not on site, but just over the road we used Just Park (pre book) £42 Friday midday to Sunday midday."
