Minutes from either RMNP or the awesome town of Grand Lake. We saw moose and deer in the neighborhood.
The owner was welcoming, kept us updated on all things that may involve our stay, and was super easy to communicate with. We'll certainly look to stay at this location again on our next visit to the area.

Exceptional host, great cabin!
We chose to return to this cabin for yet again another great New Year's vacation. Cozy, clean, fully stocked, at a perfect location, the cabin never disappoints. The owner, Bob, is very attentive, making sure the porch was shoveled when we arrived for easy access to the cabin. Bob also called to let us know of some possible outages in the area, so we were prepared. Effortless booking, great attention, clear instructions made our experience awesome. I do hope we get the chance to return again!
The cabin was ready a bit ahead of time which was nice for checkin. Everything worked well in the cabin. There was plenty of parking even though no parking is allowed on the street. Being pet friendly was important for us. Even though the cabin could use some updating, it was perfectly fine as a rental property. The upstairs shower was a nice feature. Both the owner and property manager reached out to answer any questions. Overall, this is a fine rental which I will consider for future visits.
Close to town, rustic but not kitschy, this cabin was perfect for us, two retirees plus 2 small dogs. We especially enjoyed the enclosed porches/ balcony in the front and back, where we could sit, read and eat breakfast with our dogs contained. Fenced backyard was a big plus for dog owners, as well. Backyard is small, but servicable. Neighborhood great for walks.
My only suggestion is to replace plastic chairs outside with something sturdier and to add a chaise lounge or hammock for outdoor reading.
This place made vacationing with dogs a real vacation! We will return.
Wonderful Family Time in a Rustic cabin in the woods
Overall we couldn't be happier with our stay! Both the property manager, Meredith and the owner, Bob were involved and engaged in our trip from start to finish. We did have to complete a couple of security screenings in advance which I can see why you need to do these given the Rick of letting starters stay in your home.
We loved the location and the peaceful serene setting in the woods at Columbine Lake. The neighbors were very friendly and helped us better understand the locale. The house has pretty much everything you and your family need for a stay as long as you plan ahead and buy groceries in advance including things like tinfoil and baggies. We were so thankful for what we did have at the cabin and planned and made meals every night. The firepit out back is wonderful except for those pesky universes guests called mosquitoes. Once the fire got going they disappeared 😎
The owner also connected with us in advance and allowed us an early check in which was very gracious and kind! We were blessed by that! In summary, too many good things to list but if you and your family are looking for a secluded family getaway with amenities, quiet, serenity, and great location for hiking, lake activities on Grand Lake, and moose and elk watching, this is your place!

Beautiful location
We loved our family trip here! The cabin had a perfect cabin feel with excellent amenities like dishwasher, TV, 3restrooms, washing machine and game room! The view from the deck is gorgeous! We had a perfect time and would love to stay again
It was a very comfortable cabin. Warm everywhere when needed. The bedding is very comfortable. Plenty of towels and storage for each of the 4 bedrooms. Completely fenced backyard and gated front deck for your fur baby. We were able to cook just about anything. Everything was properly working. We would definitely stay at the Columbine Cabin again. Thanks for a great and relaxing vacation.
The cabin was exactly what we were hoping for our ideal Christmas away from home. It was well stocked and comfortable. The location was perfect for many activity options. The neighborhood was quiet and everyone was friendly. We also really appreciated how dog friendly it was. It was hard to leave. We would definitely stay again.

Great Columbine Lake Cabin
The cabin was perfect for our family vacation - clean, attractive, and well maintained. The location is excellent because we could walk to Columbine Lake or drive to enjoy the beach or a pontoon on Grand Lake. We enjoyed s'mores and a fire in the Fire Pit every evening. We would have liked the beds more if they weren't quite so firm. The highlight of our stay was watching two bull moose walk between our cars and the front deck!

The house was neat and tidy but was not happy about uncomfortable mattress and one being on a floor!
The house was nice and clean but we had four couples staying there. The house was said to have four bedrooms and four Queen size beds. When we got there, we were not happy to find one of the bedrooms to be a half of a room that could not even be stood up in. The mattress was also lying on the floor and the picture was deceiving from that room because it was taken from the floor facing up to the corner of the high part of the room. We actually had to draw straws to see who was going to get the room with the mattress on the floor. Unfortunately, The husband in the couple that had to sleep on the floor, has back issues not to mention he’s 6’ 2”, and he was extremely uncomfortable. Three of the mattresses were very uncomfortable. There were no fans in the bedrooms so if the doors were shut at night there was no way for any air circulation. This would be a nice cabin for a family but not for four sets of couples. I’m sure kids wouldn’t mind sleeping on the floor.
We rented this home for a week at the beginning of August. The location was amazing, the neighborhood was nice and quiet and the folks were friendly. We were warmly greeted shortly after arrival by a couple of the neighbors. The house is clean and well cared for. There was enough parking to accomodate all three of our vehicles. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to feed our large group, and having a grill on the back porch was a nice addition. The beds were comfy and the pillows were particularly nice. Location wise, it was perfect. It was far enough out of town to be quiet and peaceful, but also close enough that running into Grand Lake was quick and easy. One of the highlights of our trip was waking up to find a moose in the front yard munching on some aspen leaves. I would definitely recommend this place and if we decide to vacation in Grand Lake again, this will be the first place I check for availability.
We are a retired couple that love to travel and take our dog with us. The cabin was cozy and homey and having the backyard fenced was beyond awesome. It feels secluded even though there are some cabins near by. The location to Grand Lake and the Rocky Mountain entrance was perfect. We loved getting out everyday looking for wildlife and the town was super cute! We did go during off season so Resturants we’re limited, but we didn’t have a problem. Ate at Sagebrush and The Hub. If you want more action, Grandy, Fraser and Winter Park are close by.
The town folks were so friendly and shared stories with us about the East Troublesome fire last year and the scary evacuation. I would highly recommend the cabin and area. We had a great time.
Everything here was as described. Everyone felt comfortable and relaxed, including the dogs. The neighborhood was nice for walking, we saw some moose. It was also close to town, yet very quiet. We cooked some meals at home. Everything was great! Thanks Bob.
The cabin is located just minutes from town. We saw moose, deer and foxes everyday. The cabin had everything we need for our family of 6 adults and 2 dogs. We will be staying here again.
My wife and I rented this cabin for a little over a week, just to get out of town and enjoy some time in the mountains with our two dogs. This place ended up being the perfect fit. It was stocked with everything we could possibly need, including a fully equipped kitchen (it even has a crock pot and bar tools), plenty of games and reading material, and made a great home away from home for a while. The fenced-in backyard and fenced front porch made this a great space for our dogs as well. The views are beautiful, and the location is close to plenty of fun outdoor activities. The owner and property management company were very communicative as well. We're already talking about going back!
Amazing, cozy cabin at a perfect location within the neighborhood, short drive to town, close to big winter resorts. My family and friends had a lot of fun tubing and sleighing in the snow just outside. The cabin itself has a home feeling and relaxing atmosphere. We highly recommend, and we will return.
We had a wonderful time at this cozy cabin. In summary, the cabin encourages playing by the lake, s’mores by the fire pit, and front porch laughs - creating memories. The location is the reason for our rental choice, but the property owner is the reason we would return. Unfortunately the property management company is disappointing to work with. The property owner more than makes up for the property management company’s lack of kindness. We would return.
